Looks nice

Did stackexchange update how replies are handled?
Jul 8 05:09
@Mithical Any sentimental value? Or is it primarily a financial + time/annoyance loss?
Jul 2 05:29
Happy (belated) Canada Day to all those who celebrate!!
Jun 17 04:09
@Criggie The chain on our car has a clip like this. We just take a pair of pliers and squeeze between the crocodile's mouth and the opposing chain pin
Jun 5 18:53
@Sam7919 Were you unable to coax the bead into position roadside?
Jun 5 18:52
@gschenk Still not a big deal even at 0.8N. The tire itself probably has significantly more imbalance.
Jun 5 10:14
@gschenk I think you're off by a factor of 10, 50^2 = ?
Jun 4 19:28
@Sam7919 I’m not worried about the weights going anywhere. I’m worried about making it easier for air to escape to the spoke holes
Jun 4 19:27
@Sam7919 in my experience the entire valve stem clogs up, not just the exit hole. So having multiple wouldn’t really help.
Jun 4 17:25
@Sam7919 It's probably not worth adding counterweights. I would also greatly suggest NOT putting them under the tape - the reduction in adhesion is absolutely not worth whatever the upside is
Jun 4 17:24
@Rеnаud I will have to check that out. Sounds very interesting
Jun 4 17:23
as well as similar products from other brands
Jun 4 17:23
But the new Clic valve or whatever its called looks promising
Jun 4 17:23
@Sam7919 I ran Aliexpress ones for a while back in Vancouver (though I wouldn't be that brave these days given that my parents aren't a phone call away anymore if something happened), and my current bike came with the Muc off ones and I don't have any complaints.
Jun 4 17:21
Not a big deal
Jun 4 17:21
@Sam7919 No no, the overall groupset reviews I read said that wheel reviews are coming out Friday
Jun 4 17:20
@Sam7919 Nah all companies will send out review products ahead of time and then specify a date when they can actually all publicize the reviews
Jun 4 17:18
@Sam7919 To my knowledge, yes. Detailed reviews seem to be embargoed until Friday
Jun 4 17:15
@Sam7919 BRKs are very small (mine is roughly lipstick sized). I’m sure you can fit one in your saddle bag.
Jun 4 17:02
They also finally ditched cup and cone bearings in the new hubs :0
Jun 4 17:00
In other news, XTR M9200 is finally out!! Wireless shifting is cool, and they finally acknowledged that the wandering bite point issue with the brakes is caused by excessive oil viscosity.
Jun 4 16:59
@Sam7919 It helps for larger punctures where the sealant is either completely or partially unable to deal with it on its own
May 30 02:33
Perhaps the return to office movement affected the general public as well in that way with the extra commute time taking up what was once hobby time
May 30 02:32
Personally I've been caught up with work, school, and the car team, and as a result haven't been engaging much with the bike industry at all
May 30 02:31
I think here on Bicycles SE, we're feeling the COVID cycling boom fade
May 30 02:30
When new questions are frequently flagged as duplicates of decade-old questions and immediately closed, people don't feel motivated to ask anymore
May 30 02:29
@Michael From reddit discussions on this topic, the consensus was that the moderation style is too heavy
May 28 20:33
@Sam7919 The second design probably adds a tiny tiny bit of compliance as well
May 28 06:25
This stackexchange is the other resource I suggest :)
May 28 06:25
That said, the park tool big blue book aint bad
May 28 06:22
@Peachy To quote Wikipedia, "This is a dynamic list and may never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness."
May 27 05:54
You can see that the fracture surface is generally flat and light grey in color, indicating a brittle fracture rather than a ductile one
May 27 05:52
@Criggie It's not missing, the other half is rotated 180* such that it's inside the outer links to the right
May 23 16:01
@Sam7919 at some point the thickness of the uneven deposit is kind of irrelevant
May 20 22:26
I was gonna ask why your tires are moldy, but then I realized you meant the other type of mold…
May 20 05:53
@Sam7919 I need to check my math and then program this into MATLAB or something so it's actually usable, but it turns out that the equation for the final pressure has a lot of variables: overleaf.com/read/bpfcrjjxnfsp#1edfde
May 13 16:30
We in fact do have a tiny lady who's interested in driving. Might put her in for the acceleration event
May 13 16:29
@Michael Unfortunately the car needs to be suitable for everyone from a 151cm female to a 187cm male
May 13 16:29
@Michael The slanted brace tubes could be somewhat shorter but not by much
May 13 16:24
So it's necessarily very tall. The one nice thing is that it gives us a good place to mount the self-driving LIDAR and cameras, but then that interferes with airflow to the rear wing, which is unfortunate
May 13 16:23
@Michael The height is mandated by the rulebook. If you draw a line from the top of that structure to the top of the dashboard where the front roll hoop is, we need 50mm clearance from the top of a 6'2" driver's helmet to the line
May 12 03:26
(the aero design isn't legal for this competition, we will be running it at Michigan in june, which I will be attending)
May 12 03:23
And we're using Cane Creek mountain bike springs on the suspension :)
May 12 03:23
The car is pretty damn fast this year even without the aerodynamics package. Ten seconds a lap faster than the next team for the endurance event at the new hampshire competition
May 12 03:22
May 12 03:11
The exact number of credits remaining isn't terribly important
May 12 03:11
I'm starting my 16 month coop work term tomorrow, and then I have fourth year after that
May 12 03:11
I actually don't know
