Do you use a water circulator pump? Such as one that keeps a hot water loop running? Or a well pump?

When you say you feel a shock, is that a fast shock like you get from static electricity? Or is that a continuous shock like putting your tongue on a 9-volt battery?

Calling attention to the cycle time is appropriate because anybody who has had the fun of doing laundry in America and Europe has likely experienced a European dryer taking 3 hours while a typical American dryer can take 40 minutes.

The panel allows ten tandems. I'm just wondering about that limit
Feb 22, 2021 04:58
Snippy yes, each wire has a little play in the top or bottom gutter. One already needed an extension from the prior person so I figured I'm out of the world of having zero extensions in the panel, so let's make it all clean and I can add more extensions in the future if needed

54 spaces, yeah same I asked about. I have room to remove the double breakers but I don't want to.

Finished my panel today photos.app.goo.gl/qWsoLQ5LWgnsg19h7

So anybody else notice that there are like ten chainsaw questions from different users on the front page today? Is it an early Halloween meme?

Buy*
Aug 10, 2019 17:25
I can still but the product if I want it, just in the tiny, more expensive, more wasteful tubes.
Aug 10, 2019 17:25
Liquid nails isn't even close as a performer to PL premium :(
Aug 10, 2019 00:13
so now I get to pay 5x the cost, and waste 3x the packaging for the same amount of glue
Aug 10, 2019 00:12
So basic 28oz tubes of PL Premium have "too much" VOC.... but the 10oz tubes don't
Aug 10, 2019 00:12
Executive order banned products based on, in part, the total mass of VOC per the sold volume.
Aug 10, 2019 00:12
Oh geez. I figured out why I can't find big tubes of PL Premium anymore in California
Jul 4, 2019 16:07
PL Premium construction adhesive. In stores it now only seems to be available in the small tubes. I had to order the 28's online.
Jul 2, 2019 06:37
I've checked a few times over the last month. Nothing. My Google-fu has failed me. There doesn't seem to be a recall.
Jul 2, 2019 06:34
So I've noticed that I can't find PL premium in the big tubes in southern California anymore. It's just gone from shelves. I went to two Lowe's and three HDs before I found it... Then when I went to pay it wouldn't ring up. the cashier read the code and said "oh, I actually can't sell this to you." He didn't know why I just that the system said to reclaim stock. Anybody know what's up?
Nov 21, 2014 23:17
yeah, this guy implies that it's the wall cavity opposite all the pipes
Nov 21, 2014 23:15
the studs are probably quite wet
Nov 21, 2014 23:15
and the wall
Nov 21, 2014 23:15
showering would absolutely soak the pad
Nov 21, 2014 23:15
and studs into that pad
Nov 21, 2014 23:15
with concrete board
Nov 21, 2014 23:14
on a concrete pad
Nov 21, 2014 23:14
imagine that it's a shower
Nov 21, 2014 23:10
if it's cinder block then it still required a barrier on at least one side
Nov 21, 2014 23:10
if they didn't want to use a solution like redgard
Nov 21, 2014 23:10
if there's cement backerboard it still needs a barrier between that and the wall studs
Nov 21, 2014 23:04
am I understanding him right do you think? Tile - Block - furring - gypsum
Nov 21, 2014 23:04
So that guy with the leaking shower wall

It looks like some kind of direct burial electrical cable for sure to me, and the way your shovel cut it looks like it would have shorted had it been a live wire. Nonetheless it also appears that you can test it since some conductors are exposed.
Aug 26, 2020 14:42
The new picture of the cut cable shows that is isn't a coaxial cable and also doesn't appear to be irrigation cable.

@user102008 Thanks for the insight! I've never heard it called a "mega backdoor" before.
Aug 24, 2020 22:15
I'll cleanup the question to clarify :)
Aug 24, 2020 22:09
Let me re-type what I'm doing here for clarity:

1) I contribute $6000 to my Roth IRA
2) Throughout the year I contribute $19500 to my Traditional 401k
3) Throughout the year my employer contributes $4875 to my 401k (by 25% match)
4) Throughout the year I contribute $32625 to my 401k using after-tax funds
5) I convert $32625 to my Roth IRA using backdoor right conversion. This costs me $25 in fees.

So, I end the year having added:
$24375 to my 401k ($19500 + $4875)
$38625 to my Roth IRA ($6000 + $32625)
Aug 24, 2020 22:05
I said "This year I have contributed $19500 pre-tax to my traditional IRA."
This should read "This year I have contributed $19500 pre-tax to my traditional 401k."
Aug 24, 2020 22:05
Oh I see my typo, sorry
Aug 24, 2020 22:04
You absolutely can contribute more than $6000 to an IRA in a year, and I'm doing it using a backdoor Roth IRA conversation, as I described.
Aug 24, 2020 18:19
I'm thinking about how I want to set it up for next year
Aug 24, 2020 18:19
To maybe clarify a little bit what I mean:
This year I have contributed $19500 pre-tax to my traditional IRA.
My employer has contributed a 25% match, or $4875

Above that, I have contributed roughly $32625 in after-tax money.
Fidelity gives me a button I can click that will move $32625 into a roth IRA (or whatever amount of after-tax money I had contributed)

I have to pay $25 to click this button.

But I can also setup an automated in-plan conversion.
My understanding is that this will automatically put my after-tax contributions into a roth 401k
Aug 24, 2020 18:11
Sorry for the back and forth in chat, but I've found that since after-tax contributions are uncommon it's difficult to find good information about them.
Aug 24, 2020 18:11
@user102008 Fidelity automatically pre-approves the after-tax amounts that I can roll into the Roth IRA. I just have to click a button and pay them a $25 fee to do it. By contrast, they will do an in plan roth conversion automatically on contribution. My concern is whether using that option affects my ability to move the money into the roth IRA later.
Aug 24, 2020 18:11
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking me. I am able to, on demand, convert my after-tax 401k money into roth IRA money. I am charged $25 to do this. My "non-after-tax" contributions cannot be converted in this way.
Aug 24, 2020 18:11
No. I mean that I am adding after-tax contributions to the account. This is different than "Traditional" and "Roth"

Not a wet room? It's a SHOWER
Nov 21, 2014 22:44
you will have to remove that drywall anyway
Nov 21, 2014 22:44
And @BMitch is correct. Have an INSPECTOR pull the drywall
Nov 21, 2014 22:44
they will send an inspector
