I have to check these later, running short on time. Thanks a lot @BESW

So many possibilities that it becomes hard to think what would work
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:27
(Trying to wrap my head around these, this is a lot of new concepts to me)
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:21
that's why the lettter idea sounds good: I can write something small to one of them, so that they think about it, and send a letter back when they can
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:20
exactly
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:20
yep!
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:20
My intention is not to have an interim session with those who are available, but rather to keep everyone thinking about the game every now and then
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:19
Let me explain a bit better
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:18
(side note: this graffiti speak game you shared seems cool! wondering how it works)
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:18
Right!
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:16
It doesnt need to be part of the main story (so I do like your suggestion with the letter, I could work with their backstories here)
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:15
I see. No, I'd prefer to have us in the same world setting where their PCs would be doing something, either alone or together, but that would keep them thinking about it every now and then
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:14
You mean individually as opposed to a group thing?
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:14
Not sure I understand, sorry
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:13
I'm mostly thinking of keeping up interest at least to start. I feel that having something going on in between, even if not part of the main story, will be good as they will be eager to play more often. Further having individual character development would be a good added bonus, but not sure if I am able to do it asynchronously
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:07
and hb!
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:07
@BESW very cool idea, I like it. I think I'll have to be the one starting it, but i think this is something I can work with!

If you have any other suggestions please let me know
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:04
@BESW hi, welcome!
Sos
May 16, 2021 12:03
@AncientSwordRage mostly about downtime, if you see anything that I could ask them to do in the mean time. I was thinking if I could text them about their PCs doing something while they are in town. Training? Or perhaps this is all a bad idea
Sos
May 16, 2021 11:58
I'm not really sure of what to ask to be honest ahah so any suggestions will be welcome!
Sos
May 16, 2021 11:55
But still, im wondering if there is anything else that I could think about in between sessions, since there are gaps of weeks between them
Sos
May 16, 2021 11:54
I'm coming here to ask for any input on something: I'm running the Dragon of Icespire Peak campaign with a group of 3 friends, and they have been really enjoying it seems. They now finished the first part of the campaign. But this process took months, as everyone is quite busy. They are very interested in playing, and there are some backstories going on which are cool, and would be a major turn-off if we changed this.

Yes! ANd BESW, I recognize at least the 2 of you
Sos
May 16, 2021 11:53
All good @AncientSwordRage :) It's good to come here and recognize a few names of people that have been so helpful in the past

Alright, so here's a small update after this question for anyone who has time: https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/171544/group-with-split-likes-in-dd-game-role-playing-and-combat
A bit of context is that I'm running my first campaign as DM, and the group is mostly novice. We had probably just a couple of sessions after that - covid and work, people were quite busy. And what I saw was that there would need to be a bit of everything in my sessions. They are about to reach level 3 (only, I know!) but have been having fun.

@BESW as I said, my last time here was about 6 months ago when I was starting into D&D as DM. We have had probably only 3 sessions (everyone was quite busy during the summer and fall). I do remember that the community here, you included, was so welcoming to me with all my noob questions.
Thanks everyone for that
Sos

Would it be ok if I type my update in here regardless of them being around, and then link it in my comments?
Sos

Thanks @BESW :)
Sos

i.e. I'd like to tag the people who answered me back there and give them some updates, thought it might be nice :)
Sos

A quick question: is it possible to tag in chat people who are not here at all? I'd like to give some updates on this question without using the comments back there

Hi everyone, has been a while since I was here (last time was in July).
Sos
Jul 30, 2020 07:29
@KorvinStarmast thanks a lot. I had thought of that too, but if sessions are so far apart from each other, it will take 3 years to complete even a small campaign :
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 12:04
ok, I have to leave for now. Thanks a lot for all the suggestions and patience to bear with me, you guys rock!

Guys, a question about Lady Blackbird: these "Refreshments" are something I had never thought about. A flashback? whaat
But how do you implement it with your own parties? If a flashback is on a PC's story, how did you involve the other PCs?
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:56
eheh I know I know :) I fully understand, perhaps it's my favorite game only because that's the only TTRPG I've ever played ahaha
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:53
(thinking how my PCs were on the verge of dying on the last session, and I didnt count a crit from one of the monsters or one of them would really die)
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:51
I can see that being a bit the case in D&D, but, not really
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:51
it is still my favorite tabletop game ever. I dont really like the traditional table top games, since they are so limited in what you can do. Roll dice, draw a card, etc, it sounds very boring since it's so luck based
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:50
im joking
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:50
you guys bashing against D&D hurts my feelings :(
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:08
@doppelgreener thanks, I will read it as soon as I can! You have both been talking so nicely of it, I'm really curious now
Sos
Jul 29, 2020 11:04
Yeah, I see what you mean. I do love the fighting, and if it was up to me, I'd be happy with the dungeon crawling aspect of it. But as I previously noted, 1 person in my group particularly likes the role playing, and the fighting not so much

@anki that's the problem, I don't remember anymore. I have tried searching for it with brew, pip and pip3, but none have it. In the end, while my question isn't solved, I think I can go without solving it. I could specify to use jupyter-notebook from a conda environment
Sos
Aug 19, 2020 07:04
should I ask a question with this?
Sos
Aug 19, 2020 07:03
Hi! I'm trying to uninstall "jupyter-notebook" from terminal, and am not having much success. Pip / pip3 dont find it, but I still see it in /usr/local/bin/jupyter-notebook
