@stuckstat this is true almost everywhere. And is why you can't get on with a US company while you live in India. You need to be employed almost always by a company in India. It might be a subsidiary, but people need to be paid locally.

I want to point out that it has been conclusively shown that Black Americans do worse on standardized tests, with all other factors accounted for, including expected results according to other methods of measuring intelligence. It is a real problem that tests are generally created by white people for white people.

Well as a help for a user with what I would call social issues I think it's fine. You have done a good job at trying to help someone play the game who needs things a certain way. Well done.

They should give the daughter an award for having sense

this can be tested, you need clamp-ons for each load. And you need to test voltages when the loads are on. This sounds like an undervolt condition to me.

things that will never happen don't need to be discussed. This whole thing is either someone trolling or they were terribly trolled.

Bless your heart that you think that a statement made publicly by the company means they actually believe and follow what they have said.

@steve, again, de facto, it wasn't really illegal, and men really didn't care. The protections were clearly lower, there isn't an honest debate possible on this topic. You can posit there were good reasons (there wasn't), but clearly domestic abuse wasn't an issue until about the 1960s.
Mar 17, 2023 07:58
@Steve men in the US beat their wives with impunity until relatively recently.
Mar 17, 2023 07:58
Women might have been de jure protected, but frankly de facto were typically not. Why is it difficult to see the old laws as merely a power structure that benefitted men?

what you do is sell things that were written by other people. That is copyright infringement.

Sep 25, 2022 05:25
@WeatherVane, the costs are passed on to cash customers, to prop up banks. It's the banks who make the fees.

Sep 25, 2022 05:25
How exactly did they inform you that your passport was cancelled? In the US, they would take it from you.

Aug 10, 2022 15:12
you should reference the ruling instread of forcing people to look it up

Jun 13, 2022 09:12
I know you didnt ask this, but "I don't drink" is an acceptable statement.

Feb 27, 2022 10:41
@nvoight, refusing anything at a company is enough to get you fired in the US.

Feb 25, 2022 15:21
What am I missing here? Being on-call means receiving phone calls (it's in the description of the activity). Who actually wants to carry 2 phones for this? You don't need security software on your phone to receive phone calls.

This is the way. The system failed, not the developer.

it wasn't removed in order to, to coin a right-wing phrase, perform virtue signaling.

"This is obviously much more than the reality." It isn't obvious to me. A lot of the weight of EV's is the battery.

God save us from people who learned PEMDAS. How is it not clear what is meant? As an engineer, things need to make sense, not fit someone's idea of how orders of operations work.

Nov 23, 2021 17:15
but the question isn't about the Rittenhouse ruling, it is more general.
Nov 23, 2021 17:15
the question doesn't mention anything about dangerous weapons. How did the answer end up there?

Nov 22, 2021 23:50
@Calath, sure, you can replace 1 attack with a Cantrip & the other with sitting on your hands.

The presence of your father in the US while you are still in Canada wouldn't do anything. Why couldn't your father be with you in CA?

Aug 17, 2021 23:01
what does surge of 1.2 kg when valve was opened mean? Drop in weight of the pressurized vessel? If so, does it match the weight change from the bleed valve?

Aug 7, 2021 21:41
does it need a flywheel! This thing will have inertia like a freight train. You are designing a very edge-condition device. A good engineer would take an estimate of running load but would expect that only a proper test will tell you how much power is actually needed to keep such a large device spinning.

Jun 21, 2021 22:34
So by this logic, you could cast it on a hollow 7 foot cube but not a solid one? Or a solid one if it were built of several piece of wood/steel/rock? I find this a reductio ad absurdum argument. Your definition included chairs and books, which are clearly built of discrete components. And how do you get that the air dimension inside an object can be larger than the object it is inside of?

Jun 4, 2021 18:00
@r13, the equation shows how velocity changes from positive to negative, just solve for velocity & graph it over time. Stop treating it like a non-scalar, it isn't.
Jun 4, 2021 18:00
@r13, throw a ball in the air, as it goes up then down, one of these needs to be negative. A negative velocity means backing up.

Mar 14, 2020 09:27
@Mark Wells, yes you could move then hold a readied attack, but then I think you lose Bonus Action abilities, action surge, held spells that might drop if concentration is affected, etc. A readied action also burns your reaction.
Mar 14, 2020 09:27
Using a readied action does not allow the fighter & rogues to both move and attack.

@AgentPaper, I think that damage clearly affects so I'm inclined to call it an effect. I don't think the intent was to define effect as only multi-turn damage, but I guess that 's what voting is for. ;^)
Jan 28, 2020 09:15
@Agentpaper, I think it's clear that the DMG version shows that damage is an effect. And that the target takes the most potent one (the one that gives the most damage) only, ignoring others.
Jan 28, 2020 09:15
@lucasvw see my answer on the topic. I only have the DMG via DNDBeyond, so no page number. Ït's Chapter 8 under "Combining Game Effects
Jan 28, 2020 09:15
@lucasvw, the DMG description of the rule explicitly uses damage as an example.
