But I have to query ~every 5 minutes to not lose any flights and that is too much
Mar 8, 2022 21:03
I thought I select a lat/lon range then query for all flights in this range
Mar 8, 2022 21:02
@ymb1 so I have a city, how can I get a list of flights approximately overhead of my place at arbitrary time of day?
Mar 8, 2022 17:41
Are commercial airplane routes predetermined? Meaning can I look for all planes on route which definitely fly over a particular city, so I can detect them on earth?

Any ideas why?

When I hardcode the params in the url (endpoint) it works, but it doesn't work with --data-urlencode
Aug 31, 2021 11:19
@rene

endpoint="https://api.stackexchange.com/2.3/inbox"
curl --silent --compressed "$endpoint" \
    --data-urlencode "client_id=$se_client_id" \
    --data-urlencode "key=$se_key" \
    --data-urlencode "access_token=$se_access_token" \
    --data-urlencode "filter=!nKzQUR9Hi5" \

Aug 31, 2021 11:05
wow
Aug 31, 2021 10:58
What is the difference between inbox and notifications? I'm GETing inbox but it only shows a link not the actual content
Aug 31, 2021 10:55
@rene do you use linux? what distro?
Aug 31, 2021 10:11
@rene the domain is visible because of DNS request right? DNS_over_HTTPS solves this I think
Aug 31, 2021 10:08
@rene Are you using a browser to access chat? Can we use like weechat to connect to chatrroms?
Aug 31, 2021 10:03

A: Receiving Stack Overflow's Chat Notification

Travis JThere are several ways to receive notifications from chat. If the chat window is not focused when a message would ping you then a notification will show up in your inbox within roughly 15 minutes. Otherwise, a message will ping you if you are currently in the room. Triggering a ping in chat c...

Aug 31, 2021 09:58
Thanks :D
About notifications, chat room mentions don't propagate to inbox?
Aug 31, 2021 09:56
Usually, after registration, REST servers provide a key for subsequent queries. What was the reasoning behind using OAUTH2 ?
Aug 31, 2021 09:55
So we have to register a dummy app right? That 300 quota thing is irrelevant
Aug 31, 2021 09:54
{"items":[],"has_more":false,"quota_max":10000,"quota_remaining":9996}⏎
Aug 31, 2021 09:54
Thanks it now works!
Aug 31, 2021 09:53
@rene yeah sorry
Aug 31, 2021 09:53
honestly getting the accesstoken was way complicated
Aug 31, 2021 09:52
maaaan!
Aug 31, 2021 09:52
curl "https://api.stackexchange.com/2.3/inbox/unread?&client_id=my_id&key=my_key&access_token=my_token"
Aug 31, 2021 09:51
The response is binary?
Aug 31, 2021 09:49
and URL is like this: https://api.stackexchange.com/2.3/inbox/unread?&access_token=my_token
Aug 31, 2021 09:47
now I have access token. How should I form up my curl?
Aug 31, 2021 09:47
@rene thanks. sorry for my trivial questions...
Aug 31, 2021 09:43
I want to receive notifications from all sites in network
Aug 31, 2021 09:42
or stackexchange
Aug 31, 2021 09:42
@rene Is that only for stackoverflow?
Aug 31, 2021 09:35
Like this?
Aug 31, 2021 09:35
@rene https://stackoverflow.com/oauth/dialog?client_id=my_num&scope=read_inbox,no_expiry
Aug 31, 2021 09:27
@rene It seems registering an app is mainly done for having higher request quota. I'm OK with 300 request per 24hours. Should I still register a dummy app?
Aug 31, 2021 09:20
@rene What is meant by app? Is curl --get link an app?
Aug 30, 2021 18:51
Can I simply curl a REST api to get my unread notifications? The docs are very confusing in this regard
