Etamine is a loosely woven fabric with a similar structure to voile or a mesh. It is an open fabric structure manufactured with plain weaving by using hardly twisted cotton or wool yarns. There were further variations including various fibres such as silk. Etamine was initially used as filter cloth, but became popular in women's skirts from 1910. Etamine was used in a variety of applications, including garments, nun's veils, and even flags. == Etymology == The word étamine, which means sieve, is a borrowed word from French language. == See also == Sheer fabric == References ==

won't post this along with the other hints, but i will confirm that "cotton-based derivative" is the def and the wordplay involves removing something meaning "good" from a "prescription medication"

@bobble ooh this is a bit tricky, esp since i see the op has added a scoreboard which implies that even they aren't sure that the accepted answer is optimal. i personally think it's fine, since at the end of the day there is still one correct answer that cannot be invalidated by other future answers - of course, that answer might require more than just human ingenuity to find (e.g. computer assistance), but that kinda comes with the package for many optimization problems on this site

ofc this all depends on what a "challenge question" is which is a much more fundamental question, and this might not even be the best strategy to make things clearer
