I think it's time to drop my AU Oneiric VM and create an AU Quantal VM instead...
izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:43
assuming you mean edgers/swat PPA
izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:43
lol, I'd try a 3.6 mainline kernel first
izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:40
if it happens often, kill gnome-screensaver and then start it with --debug -- that should give some more info
izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:38
yeah, it's a bug then -- even saw it with 3.5 kernels on precise...
izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:37
I had this happen with my thinkpad, but NOT on a desktop or VM
izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:37
what machine are you on?
izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:37

izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:37

izx
Sep 28, 2012 21:36
@jrg that happened to me on QQ...try switching to VT1 and then back to VT7
izx
Sep 27, 2012 12:41

izx
Sep 27, 2012 12:39

izx
Sep 27, 2012 12:37
Ahahaha... BTW which ISI is this?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 12:36
it's an employers' market so they can afford to blow people off...hopefully that changes....
izx
Sep 27, 2012 12:34

izx
Sep 27, 2012 12:31

izx
Sep 27, 2012 12:30

izx
Sep 27, 2012 09:18
@Takkat so we are promoting @AmithKK to 1+ years? :P
izx
Sep 27, 2012 09:13
@AmithKK Hi babe (1)
izx
Sep 27, 2012 08:00
lmk if that works
izx
Sep 27, 2012 08:00
or whatever
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:59
e.g. /media/usbstick
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:59
i don't know why they're putting it in the direcotyr, but again, instead of /dev/sdb give it a mount point if you are using the -d option
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:58
if you are using that option, you will have to give it a mount point and not the block device, IIRC
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:57
ok, now why are you installing syslinux in a directory again?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:55
paste sudo fdisk -l again
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:47
@AnwarShah How do I find you on there to add? email?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:46
Partition type is empty, that's the problem. Use gparted to create a partition table if necessary...
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:43
instead of what it says there, use Match user administrator and chroot %h/Public
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:41
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:37
i really don't understand what you want to do...
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:37
@sarowar can you access the Pictures folder from SSH?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:36
oh ok
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:36
@AnwarShah rescue/copy, wipe and reformat
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:36
@sarowar why are they owned by administrator? is this ntfs or smb mounted or something?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:35
@AnwarShah "Empty" <-----
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:33
@sarowar so you WANT to have access to the rest of the home folder?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:33
@AnwarShah paste syslinux command you are using and fdisk -l /dev/sdX...
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:30
@AnwarShah syslinux will only write bootloader to a FAT formatted partition/drive (beta can write to ntfs too). for ext2/3/4 use extlinux.
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:29
@sarowar can you explain more with example or paste ls -l of the current user home directory?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:28
@AnwarShah pardon?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:25
why do you want to do that for the same user?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:24
@AnwarShah You can have it this time, I've been busy with other things :D
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:24
@AnwarShah meaning? suppose user anwar has access to the folder if logged in locally, you want to prevent anwar access only if logged in via ssh?
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:23
congrats on 9k btw! maybe you'll be the top user for this month ;)
izx
Sep 27, 2012 07:23
hi @AnwarShah, please do ask :)
