came here to ask about the "on strike" on people's names, got my answers from the starred posts
Jun 22, 2023 15:03
wow is this chat always this dead these days?
Jun 10, 2022 20:39
lots of fun. Not sure if the game will still let you do that. It's been a few years since I've played it and they've added a lot since then.

@AncientSwordRage There's a PC sandbox game called Space Engineers that features artificial gravity devices intended for use in spaceships or bases. I realized at one point that you could move objects through free space with them, so I strung a bunch of them together and adjusted their activation times such that I had effectively created a railgun. I then promptly used it to launch warheads at my friends' stuff :P
Jun 9, 2022 17:28
wow 218.5 jeez
Jun 9, 2022 17:18
that 213.5 tho 👀
Jun 9, 2022 17:16
gotcha
Jun 9, 2022 17:15
@ThomasMarkov what do the red marks mean?
Jun 9, 2022 17:14
would you categorize that as rude/inappropriate or low-quality?
Jun 9, 2022 17:09
ok
Jun 9, 2022 17:06
was Twinned Spell updated at that time, too?
Jun 9, 2022 17:05
I will add that detail
Jun 9, 2022 17:03
should I leave this up then or delete my A?
Jun 9, 2022 17:02
hmm true. I was getting ready to post a meta Q about what to do but I will delete now
Jun 9, 2022 17:01
@ThomasMarkov so we're opting to leave the questions up even though they're asked on a now erroneous assumption?
Jun 9, 2022 17:00
indeed, hello! It's been a while
Jun 9, 2022 16:55
I've noticed there are several questions regarding twinned spell and booming blade that still operate on the assumption that you can twin that spell (because you used to be able to) but aren't necessarily asking whether you actually can. The rules have changed and now this is no longer possible. Should all of these questions be given the same answer or do we need to create a "can you do this -> No" Q/A so we can close and point them to that one?
May 19, 2022 21:47
Has it just been slow here the past several days or is this the new normal?
May 12, 2022 19:55
@AncientSwordRage no, though some might argue they're practically identical
May 12, 2022 19:39
lol I did turn 30 a couple months ago
May 12, 2022 18:44
It's been 85 years....
Sep 29, 2021 14:36
@AncientSwordRage hooray!
Sep 29, 2021 14:36
@NautArch ah yeah that's... problematic :P
Sep 29, 2021 14:20
yeah there are a lot of power struggles in that dungeon. factions be angling for superiority
Sep 29, 2021 14:01
what situation did they get themselves into and do they get a reset of any kind?
Sep 29, 2021 13:45
the slow-burn TPK
Sep 29, 2021 13:43
I'm in a mood today. If you'd rather delete that, please do.
Sep 29, 2021 13:16
fair enough. I hope your presentations go well
Sep 29, 2021 13:13
we can be intolerant without preaching violence. We have enough violence in this world, we don't need more
Sep 29, 2021 13:13
By preaching violence against others you sacrifice your right to peace
Sep 29, 2021 13:12
@AncientSwordRage I'm aware of that argument
Sep 29, 2021 13:11
"peace for me but not for thee"
Sep 29, 2021 13:11
@AncientSwordRage I suppose but it feels like a "have their cake and eat it, too" kind of thing
Sep 29, 2021 13:06
@AncientSwordRage "You will not use my words in this game to justify harming others" "you agree to punch fascists" Not that I'm a fan of fascists but the sentiments here don't align
Sep 21, 2021 17:16
a lot of those comments can be cleaned up now
Sep 21, 2021 17:13
most of the Q body serves as fluff at this point
Sep 21, 2021 17:12
fixed
Sep 21, 2021 17:11
title and body name the item differently. what is the actual name of the item again?
Sep 21, 2021 17:10
but then how will they min-max their MAD lad? :P
Sep 21, 2021 17:09
@NautArch saw your comment, nice add
Sep 21, 2021 17:07
"these give you big strong punchy hands" "cool, what will wizards come up with next"
Sep 21, 2021 17:07
@MikeQ I contend that there isn't really any lore to begin with on items like this
Sep 21, 2021 17:06
"when you were designing X version of the game, when/why did you add items with bonuses?" still seems like designer intent
Sep 21, 2021 17:05
but even then, the part of the Q asking about the origin of a given item with a bonus on it seems like a long shot to answer. I feel like we're still asking about designer intent
Sep 21, 2021 17:04
whereas artifacts can have provenance
Sep 21, 2021 17:04
AFAIK, non-artifact magic items are assumed to be made by powerful enchanters
Sep 21, 2021 17:03
I'm not really sure what is meant by "do they have their origin in D&D lore?" like, "these gloves give you the strength of a giant" is about the extent of the definition I can think of, there
Sep 21, 2021 17:02
question still seems vague
Sep 20, 2021 17:30
sounds like Glibness might be the way to go
Sep 20, 2021 17:26
I'm fairly certain "[can't] understand language, or communicate in any intelligible way" is meant to be universally exclusive of all communication, including telepathy
