Anyone know why on earth did @RodrigodeAzevedo get suspended?
Mar 26, 2020 03:31
@M.A.R. Of course. You could be mistaken for St. Mark though.
Mar 26, 2020 03:29
@orthocresol Righto.
Mar 25, 2020 12:04
@orthocresol @Mithoron @M.A.R.

I was wondering, is it ethical for me (with access to the full text of most journals) to share the pdf with others (without access to full text)?
Mar 22, 2020 15:16
@CowperKettle Aww, she's a beauty!
Mar 22, 2020 15:15
Heyo: does anyone have any idea why Zinc ferrocynide is white?
The ferrocynide should have given at least a tinge of yellow.

@uhoh I'm grateful for that.. just hoping someone gives a good answer though! We're designing wheels for my institute's mars rover, and I want to understand the reasons behind many features. Some I found, some just leave me in the dark.
Jun 22, 2020 04:08
@uhoh Wow!
Jun 22, 2020 04:08
@uhoh looks like my question ain't getting an answer here either 😅
Jun 2, 2020 16:10
What do you think?
Jun 2, 2020 16:10
So it would fit in here, contrary to what I thought earlier.
Jun 2, 2020 16:10
I found a lot of rover questions on our site 😅
Jun 2, 2020 16:10
@uhoh I'm thinking of deleting the E.SE question and posting it here.

Q: Rover Wheels: Convex or Flat?

William R. EbenezerI was comparing the wheels of the Curiosity rover and the Perseverance rover and noticed that the latter had a very flat cylindrical design as compared to the former. This got me thinking about which wheel profile was sturdier. That got me thinking about various things that might be different....

If anyone has the time and expertise, please try answering!
Jun 2, 2020 07:46
I had a SpaceEx question, but since it was more mechanical in nature, I posted it on engineering beta.

Yo folks.
Apr 20, 2020 12:36
have you crossed 100k before? (you do award hefty bounties)
Apr 20, 2020 12:35
@uhoh I can see that! Looks like you were almost going to do a feature-request for a rep-cap.
Apr 20, 2020 10:31
@uhoh congrats on 100k!!
Apr 17, 2020 09:13
@DrSheldon But be careful not to trigger a voting fraud! Innocent souls have been suspended.

Q: Aborting a de-oribit manuver

William R. EbenezerI was contemplating on how a de-orbit may be abandoned post completion of the orbit burn, say, from LEO. A situation in which this might be necessary would be detecting a breach in the heat shield after the burn or any other emergency situation. Are there standard procedures to abort de-orbit? O...

@uhoh Sorry for how long it took, but I've written a short answer to the celestial mechanics meta question summarizing my views.

@Yuvraj William is my real name. I'm not following anyone.
Jun 18, 2020 05:23
I'm fully native man. Dravidian. Tamil.
Jun 18, 2020 05:22
@Yuvraj Let's see... I think so ;)
Jun 16, 2020 17:52
@YusufHasan The last mail from the registrar says that they will start bring people back in Sept. But no (official) info about when the sem will start
Jun 16, 2020 16:44
@YusufHasan Oho... nice.
Jun 16, 2020 16:40
@YusufHasan I know your agony. We were also going to have a chem class test and were given just 8 days to cram the entire Inorganic and Organic material. But the students mass-mailed our profs and they had to cancel it.
Jun 16, 2020 16:32
@YusufHasan Our semester was closed recently without endsems. Classes concluded long ago.
Jun 16, 2020 04:23
@YusufHasan College opened? Semester closed?
Jun 16, 2020 04:21
Hello folks.
Mar 22, 2020 15:14
@YusufHasan I can counter that with two points. Tell me if I'm wrong. 1. All d-d transitions are forbidden anyway, but the vibronic coupling at room temperature is enough to distort the centrosymmetry of the oh complex, relaxing Laporte rules. 2. Potassium ferrocyanide is a nice yellow. Surely the same logic applied to it as well!
Mar 22, 2020 10:33
@GuruVishnu Right.
Mar 22, 2020 09:12
@Help I haven't done much spectroscopy, but I think the blank should draw a zero. Probably not calibrated.

Hello there.

May 21, 2020 03:35
Very realistic answer!

Bye, and :) all the best for your preparations!

Catch ya later then.
Mar 10, 2020 13:10
I relied heavily on FIITJEE modules as well, including the GMP towards the end.
Mar 10, 2020 13:10
Physical: Cengage (not recommended, very crabby book), O.P. Tandon (not recommended either), Atkins at times. I didn't use any reference books seriously for Physical, as nobody's gonna ask you whether you understood stuff deeply or not, something I'd have loved to do.
Mar 10, 2020 13:09
@GuruVishnu Heyo, sorry for the delay. Was a little busy. I used a lot of books! Organic: Solomon&F, Peter Sykes, Sanyal, J.March, and Clayden just for a few topics. Inorganic: Lee (sadly!), N.Greenwood (only for a few topics, not recommended for JEE), Shriver and Atkins.
