@nohillside been using thunderbird for months now. It's so good!
Handles 25k emails smoothly, search is much better than Mail's, unified inbox works just like Mail's, is more customizable, has chat and calendar built in, and gets updates much more frequently.

@nohillside Will buy something like that when budget allows.. external HDD is too fragile and needs extra care. Also I have to stop doing everything so that backupd can copy stuff quickly.

@nohillside Did you try the solution from that mozilla thread ? It comes pretty close to what's in Apple Mail (at least on macos 10.14.. idk what changed regarding unified inbox in newer macoses)

@JBis Thanks for the details! I read around that site and found myself becoming skeptical of a lot of its claims.. like VSCode's telemetry being called spyware. Or setting up a website just to email my grandma.
