can i reliably use a linux VM to compile a dll, written in C, that would work on a linux box? a lot of the SO posts that im finding say "just use cygwin"
it is, but at times im like "man, why do i feel like im the only one in the room who knows this concept?". like i had to thoroughly prove that if i inherit a class, then it will also inherit the methods
it's good for me career-wise though because i keep introducing concepts that are foreign to them and they seem pretty receptive to how i present my solutions
im imagining the same nightmares that i have at my internship of working with mech. engs. and EEs who were forced to learn how to program through rote learning
tbh though, if you have libraries that can actually do the matrix math, the difficult part is abstracting everything to the point that some end user can actually use it without needing to reference the source code
thinking back on it now, i don't even know if it even was terribly accurate because i didn't really know how to test things with matlab at the time lol
im trying to work towards being able to use software like openFOAM since down the line I think that I want to work in an area that would actually utilize it, such as doing thermal analyses of nuclear reactors or solar-mechanical systems
@IvenBach I really want to dive headfirst into openFOAM, but I really need to get my OS project to its 1st release (it's just a library of steam table C functions)
funny thing is that the other intern in the office was wondering why his changes really slowed down his testing. turns out that it's better to pass references to giant matrices instead of copying them over and over again
