It's not saying "it has toppings were well blended", it's saying "the toppings belonging to it" which means a possessive pronoun is the right use in this case
@Aaronut, according to my understanding of its/it's, your sentence is actually using "it's" incorrectly: "It's toppings were well-blended." I was taught that it's is a contraction for it is or it has. Its is a possessive pronoun meaning, more or less, of it or belonging to it. Therefore in that case, I'd expect to see "Its" (I know, semantics, just jumping into the conversation a little late while I eat my lunch today)
Once you pointed to a dictionary definition of the word catering (which did not mention "professionally" at all) I thought the conversation was over, apparently he didn't agree
However, I don't see catering to be an exact synonym for bulk-cooking, in that I can bulk-cook for myself at home (and do regularly), but catering always means bulk-cooking for others to me
While I understand what he's saying about catering, and maybe I have an American-centric view, I consider catering bulk-cooking for a specific event, whether professional or not
hey, i know i'm not a mod but just my two cents, i'm in the same boat as you yossarian - i answered the "what can i add to my raspberry smoothie" request, which is basically the same as "what can i add to my grilled cheese", which i voted to close
and on that note, i'm going to go set up my temporary bedroom in the living room...came home from work today to my (crated) dog having exploded out one or both ends
that would be so awesome...since i put it on the credit card in anticipation of my yearly bonus that work still hasnt' given us but should be coming this month
