I can get a cloud notebook to work, but when I do a form with a DatabinAdd function it doesn't make it in.

Any chance you can try and reproduce my error?

I can create a new databin online, but when I try to access it I get this error: Databin::invres: A valid response could not be obtained. Please try again later.

CreateDatabin is autopopulating as a function, but when I run it, it returns as a basic symbol

Thought I would check here before I filed a report.

Is anyone else having issues with databins today?

@CarlLange I think you are right. It's a shame though. Forms are a great way demonstrate technical findings to non-technical people. I do a lot of work in Social Sciences and forms are excellent for mocking up different scenarios when analyzing data. Manipulate works, but also has its limitations.

I have noticed that a lot of questions about FormFunction and FormPage end up with no answers or comments.

Is it safe to assume that if you encounter an issue with forms (and cloud deployed forms), and everything appears to be in order, that there is a good chance you are just dealing with a quirk in the system?

Still looks like the cloud version is 11.3. My guess is the transition messed things up so they reverted. I was having major issues on everything from Wolfram|Alpha, to accessing some of my cloud deployed objects.

Tell him it is actually for a Christmas gift for a fellow Wolfram enthusiast... unless of course that is a copyright violations... in which case I just wanted to look at it... ;-)

Random question for you all... I know that Wolfram has a diagram that shows how all the properties related to food are interconnected. It was on display downstairs at the WTC, and had a link to source, but for the life of me, I can't track it down now. Anyone have an idea where I can find it?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a NeuralNet to extract keywords from text? Thinking of a long list of descriptions for companies where you could isolate the keywords later evaluation.

@b3m2a1 Wow! Thanks for the insights. I have never dug into the code "under the hood" before to see why something wasn't working. Appreciate your input here as well as on the question. I was ready to just chalk it up to a bug and move on in another direction.

We upgraded our Development Platform because had a few cloud functions that were timing out and needed more cloud/service credits, but in the long term it doesn't seem worth it because there are still so many basic functionalities that don't work.

I created a great ListPointPlot3Dthe other day that I wanted to share with friends (based on whiskey tasting), but couldn't get the CloudExport to keep it interactive (rotatable), so just gave up. Didn't even ask here because it seems like a lot of the solutions to cloud based issues are not transferable (or have no real solutions).

Stephen Wolfram spoke a lot at WTC about wanting to make Mathematica ubiquitous... IMHO, getting cloud based functions to work properly would be a great way to move that objective forward.

Seems like the hard split between Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha left cloud functionality in an odd place that led to lots of pseudo-functionality.

The solution I am using now (and will now probably use into the future) is to use a DatabinAdd and/or SendMail function to get the results from a form, and then run the execution on the inputs locally.

Thanks for the perspective Kuba. I have spent the last couple days working on another form issue and this may be the guidance I need to just move on in another direction.

Thanks Carl. About 75% of what I am working on these days is either built around forms or cloud based solutions. I often find the documentation (official and community-based) is mostly proof of concept. Since I am still relatively new to Mathematica it is still hard to tell where I am just being a Newb and where I am working in areas that are outside the typical use cases of Mathematica users.

So I got the tumbleweed badge on this question... No answers, no comments, and only 21 views after 24 days. Am I missing something? I am assuming it is just a use of Mathematica that not many people on SE are interested in. At this point, I have coded around the issue, but the question still interests me. It is obvious Stephen is a genius, but also obvious that you would have to have pretty thick skin to work on cutting edge areas.

Fascinating because you learn about new features in the works (especially as come up on a new major release). Fascinating because you get an insight into the working environment behind the scenes. Fascinating because random users like myself have a chance to participate via live feed. Fascinating because you realize how much work goes into what seems like mundane aspects of the language and documentation.

So if I have a Dataset created from a local CSV file with appropriate associations that I want my peers to be able to access without having to send the file... my best bet would be CloudObject?

I must admit, I am thoroughly confused on the differences between CloudObjects, ResourceObjects, CloudDeploy, CloudExport, etc.

I am an on-the-ground data guy who has worked mostly in the non-profit world, but am absolutely fascinated by what Wolfram can do.
