Migrated electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/12514/… to unix.stackexchange.com Seems like the right place for it...

@tyblu It's 10am here

@NickT I was thinking it might be good to get some concensus "are people happy with the proposed design", to help the discussion converge on something. Jin said he wants to make the changes this Thursday.
Mar 16, 2011 01:49
So, we have at least one "no". I say we put it to a vote.
Mar 16, 2011 01:46
I've just received an email from our benevolent StackExchange overlords asking moderators to take a look at the propsed site design. There's been some discussion on meta. Are we happy with the proposed design or do we want something else? I could raise this as a question on meta for a vote with a time limit?

@Kortuk I clicked "flag for moderator" on your comment to electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/9841/… (I didn't want to edit it, but didn't think "shit" was needed). For some reason, it's now deleted. Sorry, that wasn't my intention.

@reemrevnivek is a pain to spell right. But, I don't think it's "unprofessional". It's just a nickname like any other. Using your real name has the disadvantage of making you very searchable by name.

1 chAmp Hour per kilo. [groan]

sensor?
Jan 20, 2011 21:35
(sounds like a good question for the site though)
Jan 20, 2011 21:34
@Dean I haven't a clue, I just remember seeing an FSR on adafruit

Good work.

area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/26607/… I'd say that that we cover this pretty well?
Jan 20, 2011 20:53
Interesting, we've seen several authoritative sources come and answer questions lately. @Dean Camera on LUFA and Gregory Nutt on NuttX. A good sign.

Nearly at 10K...

@tyblu Re: EZ430 try asking on 43oh.com/forum
Dec 15, 2010 20:36
Working - mostly banging my head against a broken 8051 compiler.
Dec 15, 2010 20:33
Greetings
Dec 15, 2010 20:28
8051 is weird - I'd pick a flat memory space any day
Nov 30, 2010 15:32
Ok, I'll write up an answer.
Nov 30, 2010 15:31
It really depends on the OS...
Nov 30, 2010 15:28
Yeah, I saw. Though, Matt did add labels...
Nov 30, 2010 15:22
I've done lots of embedded linux stuff and a fair bit of bare-metal work.
Nov 30, 2010 15:21
Hell - no :)
Nov 30, 2010 15:19
Yeah, but it pays the bills.
Nov 30, 2010 15:17
Lovely, just fixed a long standing ethernet driver bug, things are good.
Nov 30, 2010 15:17
I haven't seen any of the others
Nov 30, 2010 15:16
There's the core of a decent question in there.
Nov 30, 2010 15:16
@Kortuk Yeah, I agree. I decided to improve the question rather than vote to close.
Nov 18, 2010 14:29
FWIW, you know that everything said here is searchable with google...
Nov 18, 2010 14:25
Thanks.
Nov 18, 2010 14:19
Yes, but could you add a comment first explaining why. He deserves an explanation.
Nov 18, 2010 14:15
@Kortuk Do you think "Where can I buy" or "Cheap source of" questions should always be disallowed? The answer is always going to be localized
Nov 18, 2010 13:38
Meh, I've closed it anyway.
Nov 18, 2010 13:37
The response to that BeagleBoard question isn't really an ad - it answers the question. But, that's probably a good reason to disallow the question. I'd like to vote, but would like a non-moderator vote...
Nov 18, 2010 13:36
@OEngenheiro I closed that question as it was a bit contrived. I had an answer so wrote a question to fit it.
Nov 18, 2010 09:21
@Kortuk (re dBm question) Yes, I did prefer his answer, it got to the root of my misunderstanding
Nov 17, 2010 16:28
@Kortuk No problem. I don't normally edit other people's posts, but it was obviously a typo
Nov 16, 2010 17:21
None of the professional EEs I know use the web/social/media/E&R/etc very much. I think we're always going to get more amateur questions.
Nov 16, 2010 17:08
@Kellenjb I see your point about ownership - but, surely the answer would be for everyone else to ask more questions too :-)
Nov 16, 2010 16:50
@Kortuk I think we should just keep closing/merging the duplicates with a comment saying "Thomas Please check for duplicates". I don't want to discourage people from asking questions...
Nov 4, 2010 17:45
@pingswept I was going to mention that too
Nov 2, 2010 16:50
Done.
Nov 2, 2010 16:33
I'm not bothered enough to remove it, mind if I dismiss the flag?
Nov 2, 2010 16:10
What do we think about electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/6050/… copyrighted material? (it's behind a login) homework question?
