I like Dragons are big, green people eating machines.

I would guess they expected the language problem to be short term, you would learn dothraki before long.

@Levi I have also discovered different dealerships charge different diagnostic prices, one round here is £70 another one was £50, so shop around, hope the new bit works.
Apr 29, 2019 09:38
@Levi I am scrapping this car, i just spent £300 on a variable valve controller, now it also needs £200 brake calipers.
Apr 18, 2019 14:11
we are talking £300+
Apr 18, 2019 14:11
@Levi, up north, I wonder if this can be co-ordinated
Apr 18, 2019 14:11
@levi where in the world are you, as it may be worth getting this seen together, as I know I am not alone. I am in the UK
Apr 18, 2019 14:11
@Levi no my research says I need a new ECU (electronics control unit) which is getting expensive.

Apr 17, 2019 19:15
sorry if I am being dense but.. she has got bigger in a world where everyone is bigger, so she is relatively a normal size humanoid for the planet?

Feb 4, 2019 06:28
how much more slowing down is a trainee than being 1 person short?

Jan 29, 2019 14:16
@BittermanAndy sorry from my view the other side of 30 it was just funny.
Jan 29, 2019 14:16
an "older male mid 30s" I take it you are a teenager

 TRPG General Chat

Nov 21, 2018 13:21
@doppelgreener yeah if my OH was DMing i could just say "witch magic" and that would be enough, but our DM has read less than you...
Nov 21, 2018 13:14
but due to the way HeroQuest works any ideas are good ideas, so I am not arguing, I have added an example to help people
Nov 21, 2018 12:46
Nov 21, 2018 10:09
I like that, in case anyone is there I have also asked in reddit, which is better at open ended questions isn't it
Nov 21, 2018 09:59
In the system you write a sentence to describe what you can do, as an example "I am excellent with farm animals due to my childhood spent on a farm"
Nov 21, 2018 09:52
is it more leadership, mega persuasion? I am thinking more early Tiffany or maybe even Magrat than Granny Weatherwax
Nov 21, 2018 09:50
@BESW I like that yes ( instead they now make decisions based on the fact the character is mind controlled)
Nov 21, 2018 09:50
You are right on humans mind control may be too strong a term.
Nov 21, 2018 09:47
So my very basic understanding of Hero quest I can have 8 quite broad abilities descriptions, and if it isn't listed I can't do it.
Nov 21, 2018 09:38
So my thought were about creating a pratchett style witch in Hero quest (RPG), but I have only got as far as realising most of the spells are mind control
Nov 21, 2018 09:28
@KorvinStarmast Idid but realised i butted into an existing conversation so disappeared again

Oct 18, 2018 08:53
@Araucaria they are in the UK, so we do get paid sick leave
Oct 18, 2018 08:53
Are there any jobs you could have done, that weren't already fully staffed? As this really makes a difference.

Sep 24, 2018 10:23
@Aquarius_Girl nope doesn't change a thing, he answered in such a way as to pique your interest, to get you to ask follow on questions. If he wasn't proud of it or didn't want you to know he would have answered with another genre he reads, like "gritty crime", or "i don't really read much". He either wanted to shock you in which case he is a childish arsehole, or he wants to participate in which case he is a dangerous arsehole as he calls it "the darkside" not BDSM, so he is going to have no concept of limits or consent as limits and consent aren't "dark" and exciting
Sep 24, 2018 10:23
if he brings up soon after meeting you i will say yes. If he had bought i up all coy after knowing you ages, not so much.
Sep 24, 2018 10:23
It means they are an arsehole. This guy is talking about being a sadist pretty soon, he is going to want to do sadistic things to you.

Jul 10, 2018 18:10
@xoxel I can't answer a question based on the French i don't have, only the English you provide.
Jul 10, 2018 18:10
@QEDemonstrandum I cover that in the first section "If you had stuck with "Yeah, of course, but seems like a fail for me", would have told everyone you had given up, without treating her as your property you can set free."

Jun 29, 2018 02:35
@MikeNichols I was just thinking a hyper sensitive animal in wilks answer, i was imagining a slug for some reason.
Jun 29, 2018 02:35
is this on earth? are we restricted to earth based answers?

Jun 13, 2018 08:54
@Tetsujin my children's teachers in Yorkshire would never let them use that form, so not acceptable (but yes I do hear it)
Jun 13, 2018 08:54
@snailboat but it is ungrammatical against English as taught
Jun 13, 2018 08:54
@snailboat you learn something new every day

Jun 6, 2018 01:49
exactly @Llopis, I think it is easier to code. I bet in the old days when you had the search box and the address bar it worked perfectly, but now you have a combined search box/address bar the code can't cope.
Jun 6, 2018 01:49
but please make it intelligent, ours if you even type the phishing test company name into google (to check it is a valid company and see what it is all about) it registers that you failed and makes you take the test.

Apr 21, 2018 01:40
who is paying for the flights?

Apr 17, 2018 19:32
people are not always to blame, on our last holiday we booked 1 extra leg room seat and 3 seats in the row in front. (kids can't sit in the extra legroom row). There was a plane swap now there was 1 row between myself and my family. We had paid for the extra legroom seat and were still in bad seating.

Apr 8, 2018 09:42
@henning it is a useful tool in demonstrating to somebody how their small step will in fact grow.. And i know it is considered a fallacy but honestly in my lifetime i have seen so many slippery slopes actually happen, some good for example gay rights, some less good the loss of womens rights under the taliban.
Apr 4, 2018 14:35
@GhotiandChips but the original question was "can i ask her to cover up because I found it exciting", so asking a woman to change her clothes because of one mans opinion. I just extended this. And I was responding the persons answer, not to you.
Apr 4, 2018 14:35
@GhotiandChips how do you think showing ankles became acceptable? it became acceptable by women saying "sod you" and doing it, and living in countries where this didn't incur stoning or imprisonment. if we start sliding back and hiding because men start deeming it so, any unusual flesh becomes exciting. That is why ankles are no longer exciting.

Apr 4, 2018 14:35
Lets use slippery slope exaggeration, you find cleavage exciting and ask her to cover her chest, the next GM is really excited by the nape of her neck, she wears roll neck pullovers. the next GM really likes legs and can't stop staring every time she goes for a drink, she starts wearing trousers. the next GM just falls into her deep blue eyes.. when does it stop being the persons job to cover up because of others' sexuality

to add a warning from spagirl: "Beware of unintended consequences. There is a possibility that the house would smell worse if she used ashtrays.... Again coming from shared house experience, sometimes you can stop people using plates as ashtrays, you can make sure the house has more ashtrays, buy old saucers from charity shops etc, and then you find that people don't empty ashtrays, and they get washed even less often than the plates and mugs did. They sit there as stinking heaps overspilling onto the carpets and other furnishings." You bought them it is now your job to clean them up.
