@bmike I used a third party tool linux.die.net/man/8/memtester (installed with Homebrew) + firefox 100x tabs to stress memory. Wasn't aware of that tool

Just had long chat with Apple and did some of my own testing. It is related to memory. If I drive up memory pressure I get popping sound. They want to do repair.
@bmike Opened a case. It was happening pretty often, they told me to restart and it went away for the rest of the day. Which makes me believe it's a software issue. Once it happens again, I'll reach back out to Apple.
Has anyone ever restored from a non Time Machine style backup? I'm thinking of switching over to Rsync for more control and better speeds, however, I want to make sure restoration is easy.
When connecting via Finder → Connect to Server → 'smb://something.tld' macOS defaults to unencrypted SMB if the server accepts it. Behavior is same with Timemachine via SMB.
@bmike Interesting. Can you provide some examples? I can think of very few things that are better suited for iOS, and more it's better suited for a "touch screen" than "iOS".
TLS 1.3 uses ephemeral keys generated by both the client and server. Would this not prevent a replay attack? What is the need for the client and server random in TLS 1.3? — JBis11 mins ago
At one point I was going to nominate myself but I haven't been too active recently and probably won't have time in the near future so doesn't make sense.
