IMHO, do not do any work for these guys and run as fast and as far as you can

Jul 22, 2021 17:11
@mishan From OP post i gather that in the office it is not a standard practice :)

Same here, shotgun raise requests always end with employee leaving within a year. this is a correct answer

What is As discussed note mentions? Did they discuss it with you or between themselves?

In third world countries high-tech professionals used like chattel until they run away or replaced, and yes, expected to work whatever hours needed for the same wage. In the civilized countries, however, employee that worked evening or weekend entitled to at least a banked time off in 1-1 proportion

@Museful IMHO, it depends on your licensing strategy. at this point you going to need to make a decision. Not sure how you license now, as i see it, you have 3 main options per-seat, per-tmeframe (subscription like) or per-customer (cascading or not)
Jul 1, 2020 17:46
A bit vague description of what you do. From your description I see a potential issue with ownership of the licenses you produce. You are the one controlling it, correct? Is your work with this client involve selling additional licenses to their customers? Cause in this setting your client in the eyes of their customers becomes distributor of these licenses

You didn`t mention your location and "employer" location, are you in the same country?

Aug 23, 2019 21:08
@JulieinAustin lol, then i have a great news for you - anyone who works for you already circulating their resume and will soon leave. good luck
Aug 23, 2019 15:35
@JulieinAustin Because often "Management Chain" means lots of personally related idiots sitting on their comfy chairs doing nothing and afraid of change with veeery few that do the work and ignore the morons. and to get to these few will take time and proof.
Aug 23, 2019 15:34
@JulieinAustin Incorrect, if your incompetent manager is putting you at risk it is your duty to protect yourself. When said moron cant understand words and do nothing to handle the situation in his department there is a need to go higher, and for that paper trail and evidence is REQUIRED.

@JulieinAustin @JulieinAustin You right, better to make a scapegoats out of them when manager and saboteurs incompetence will affect OPs results. OP mentioned that he had one on one with "manager" and that "coworker". but no one done a thing. so it is "call out", "attack", "name a moron", "cover your azz" time. Call it what ever you want but to put yourself on the line because of idiots is NOT "keeping the piece" for the sake incompetent managers piece of mind
Aug 22, 2019 18:33
@FrancineDeGroodTaylor but it will elicit at least some reaction. From i gather OP didn`t get any by now from coworker or manager
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@FrancineDeGroodTaylor Perhaps, but it will at least put you on notice. And you may look harder to find another, less childish tricks, would you? Even if there will be none
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@FrancineDeGroodTaylor still that is professionally and ethically unacceptable. There is sufficient number of ways unintentional bug get created without adding them specifically :)
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@FrancineDeGroodTaylor Comments help support the claim that coworker is NOT doing its job. Maybe manager will be more receptive this time. If not - email trail of reports to manager with proof should cover OPs behind in case any bug will make it to production. Toward that goal - comments are MUCH better looking then bugs :)
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@dwizum also, i dont see anywhere in the OPs post that PR is "unofficial" practice
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@dwizum i see, the word choice may have been not a best one. i meant it as dictionary does: "a thing that is done simply to comply with requirements of etiquette, regulations, or custom." , Meaning that it is part of methodology in the OPs company
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@dwizum and my point that by ignoring the company procedures, official or otherwise, coworker is not performing its duties
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@JulieinAustin if you, at the time you were made aware of the issue, chose to walk the employee that cares and not the one that doesn`t, you were not efficient manager and were just passing time. And that employee got lucky to stop working for you when he did
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@JulieinAustin what is wrong with calling her out if no feedback is given and no reaction to one on ones?
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@FrancineDeGroodTaylor bugs are bad idea, all actual code should be correct, comments are the way of putting markers without compromising the functionality
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@dwizum What is the point of PR then? waste of time , money , resources and methodology. For example TDD doesn`t require PR, but it is a strategical decision and company went with PR. by not performing it, coworker is sabotaging the company, not just OP
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@dwizum from the post its apparent that conflict is already happening. No reaction to OP discussions with this coworker, and next stage is to talk to a manager, hollow stipulations are worse than indicators because its always going to be OP word against coworker
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@aaaaaa if , as OP stated, no comments came from this person and no change from verbal communication (request for comments), there should be an indicator to confirm / support his claim that code is not reviewed
Aug 22, 2019 18:16
@cdkMoose from what i understand OP is responsible for his own code and PR is NOT a formality, there is always a chance of missing something. By not performing a PR that "coworker" is putting OP and his work / status / advancement at risk

100% agree. with sufficient notice - check your contract - you can go to the doctor. And if you get fired for that, you can get a payday suing for wrongful termination. Details you should confirm with the lawyer prior of sending the notice for your appointment, there may be a process you need to follow in order to be completely shielded (i.e. notice period, specific wording in the email or something else)

Cannot find a PDF editing component with add / remove text / image element functionality and visual component to integrate in to Winforms / WPF window.

Everything i found is only APIs for element manipulation from code-behind

Any suggestions?

P.S. will also accept standalone app that can be wrapped with stream / file path input and resulting path / stream after processing

Thank you

Very strange that as a someone in a lead role you concentrate on personal rather than professional interactions.

Same thing no mater the gender. Depends on what is the location and company size, OP has different remedies. IMHO - hr then if nothing is done - lawyer. get proof for harassment and boss notifications with responses

You should separate the performance review and salary / employment status etc stemming from it and holiday gift tradition. Its not a tip (your not in the restaurant), or a bonus (these tend to be larger that 50$). Get in the holiday spirit and spend a few bucks to make someone feel better and showing that you are a human being, once a year
