The microcode is normally part of the initramfs and is loaded during boot so, although not expected, I am suggesting rebuilding the initramfs as a possible fix to the OP unusual situation. Would help if we knew which microcode was installed.

The OP also clearly states "running dmesg | grep -i microcode and grep -i microcode /var/log/syslog* return nothing" . I suspect we need to run sudo update-initramfs -u && sudo reboot

In the question the OP clearly states "I have intel-microcode and iucode-tool installed and updated" so I am not really sure how this helps.

You have to move the partitions, one at a time, until the unallocated space is adjacent to sda6. Move -> apply changes -> move -> apply changes ....

Close vote is fine, from my understanding from previous discussions on meta we do support WSL here as long as they are using the image from the store. You could ask on meta (I suggest you do so), you have a good question.

@user68186 - Sweet Domination is not using a beta version of Ubuntu. If I recall the commands he ran installed Ubuntu 16.04 . I think he is referring to WSL itself, which I think may be in beta, I am not certain. You can use docker images with WSL and run almost any version of Ubuntu or Linux, but the OP has not done this.

You have 2 problems. First locate works on a data base after installing new packages, so run sudo updatedb then locate privoxy or what not. Second read about path. etc/privoxy/config is not the same as /etc/privoxy/config . Other than that you can write from scratch or copy paste, but be sure you read the config and leave comments (comments start with a #).

PantherSorry to post all those comments, but I feel strongly about animal cruelty. Both dogs and cats are carnivores, meaning they need meat and animal products to thrive. That does not mean they eat only meat or that one needs to buy or use only commercial dog or cat food, but it does mean it is, IMO...
