Is there a fool-proof and easy way to tell that the original composition is indeed non-diatonic for the uninitiated to grasp and understand? I've found it hard to tell the difference even after knowing this for a fact and comparing the original MV with the notes on the score.
Aug 25, 2024 05:21
So how do we know/decide upon what is the "right"/preferred way to arrange/present this piece of music?
Aug 25, 2024 05:19
On the other hand, if the purpose of this piece is to educate children on the mechanics of solfège, the non-diatonic notes can be confusing because the don't fit into the regular Do-Re-Mi scale.
Aug 25, 2024 05:17
Regarding the "Do-Re-Mi" question, I wonder if the non-diatonic melody is just there to accommodate the secondary dominant harmony because secondary harmony sounds "richer". With C7 and D7 chords on measure 11 and 14 respectively, it is easy to sing "out of tune" into the non-diatonic notes and go with the chords.

@Aaron Noted and updated.

Another song I wrote a while ago. Welcome any suggestions to improvise and improve the arrangement.
Aug 25, 2024 03:11
I am trying to understand the application of secondary dominant harmony by studying its effects on the famous song, [Do-Re-Mi][1] from the Sound of Music.

I have come up with [this][1], which sounds great - but I honestly cannot tell the difference between this and the more humble [diatonic version][2].

The minor chords ii and iii sounded more "muddy", though - which is less in line with the mood of the original score.

I am not even sure which version Julie Andrews actually sang in the MV shared above.

Can I do without a reverse proxy?
Jan 18, 2024 14:55
I am working with the same external ports. I have 2 VM servers, each with its own internal IP, that needs to access the same external ports.
Jan 18, 2024 14:50
@vidarlo How do we define an apache instance? Does a separate conf file count as a separate instance? Or does it have to be on a separate machine, with its own internal IP?
Jan 18, 2024 14:47
I'm happy to get some things working as I figure things out.
Jan 18, 2024 14:47
First time doing this.
Jan 18, 2024 14:46
So I need another copy of the same thing on a separate VM that holds the certificates?
Jan 18, 2024 14:45
I still need my http and https-ssl conf on 192.168.1.81 , right? Adding the proxy code over there is not gonna work?
Jan 18, 2024 14:43
oh...
Jan 18, 2024 14:41
No. Currently, my reverse proxy sits in the same VM as my django backend.
Jan 18, 2024 14:39
the other project is more complicated. It's a matrix homeserver built with github.com/spantaleev/matrix-docker-ansible-deploy
Jan 18, 2024 14:38
It's django running on a regular apache server.
Jan 18, 2024 14:37
This is the access log

Jan 18, 2024 14:34
@vidarlo yeah. doesn't work when the reverse proxy is activated.
Jan 18, 2024 14:34
@vidarlo what do you mean?
Jan 18, 2024 14:34
If I put it back on, I get a bad request.

curl -kI https://192.168.1.83
HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request
Date: Thu, 18 Jan 2024 14:33:42 GMT

Jan 18, 2024 14:33
except for my other site - of course
Jan 18, 2024 14:32
with the proxy removed, everything works.
Jan 18, 2024 14:32
@vidarlo Yeah
Jan 18, 2024 14:30
This
--> Include "/etc/apache2/sites-available/reverse-proxy.conf"
Jan 18, 2024 14:29
@vidarlo I commented out the Include part for the proxy.
Jan 18, 2024 14:28
Problem is, the reverse proxy as it stands right now doesn't work
Jan 18, 2024 14:28
Or should I go with my present setup for the Django project and build a reverse proxy for my other server on its own VM?
Jan 18, 2024 14:27
Is it better to have a separate VM or container just to host the reverse proxy? So that it can get its own internal IP, and maybe even use it as a DMZ?
Jan 18, 2024 14:26
So what is the proper way to setup reverse proxy in this situation?
Jan 18, 2024 14:25
[Thu Jan 18 07:09:39.835861 2024] [proxy_http:error] [pid 46505:tid 133251102926528] [client 119.74.38.81:51224] AH01097: pass request body failed to 192.168.1.83:443 (192.168.1.83) from 119.74.38.81 (), referer: https://acupunctureclassique.duckdns.org/

This proxy error has something to do with this.
Jan 18, 2024 14:23
Not that I know of.
Jan 18, 2024 14:21
I don't understand the error, either.
Jan 18, 2024 14:19
?
Jan 18, 2024 14:19
It complains of a bad proxy handshake as well.
Jan 18, 2024 14:17
my other site's reverse proxy vhost is not setup yet.,
Jan 18, 2024 14:16
Or do they have to be in the same box?
Jan 18, 2024 14:15
A separate vhost for each.
Jan 18, 2024 14:15
Can my reverse proxy be split across the 2 VMs?
Jan 18, 2024 14:13
I run them on two separate virtual machines, hosted on a Proxmox server.
Jan 18, 2024 14:12
Which one?
Jan 18, 2024 14:12
I don't want them to share certs. That's why I need to use reverse proxy to divert traffic.
Jan 18, 2024 14:11
When this site is validated, my other site goes down.

```
Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for chat.wencai.org. The certificate is only valid for acupunctureclassique.duckdns.org.
