Hey Alex, how's it going? Saw we had some people in chat and wanted to check it out. :)

@Lord_Gareth For what it's worth, the question is on topic, and I'm not really sure what the downvotes are about. Maybe just a lack of context in your question (as in, why are you doing this?)

It's funny how there are hardly any votes on the question or any of the answers, though

Q: MTG Gatecrash Simic Strategies for a Prerelease event

wesdfgfgdI am going to be playing this weekend at the prerelease of Gatecrash, with the chosen guild of Simic. Now the core strategy of Simic is to grow relentlessly, using the Evolve mechanic (whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if that creature has greater power or toughness t...

The recent pre-release question has been very popular, with hundreds of views
Jan 4, 2013 17:15
And picking multiple cards that interact well together is fun for me
Jan 4, 2013 17:15
mmm. That is interesting. I actually most often build decks of singletons. I like the randomness.
Jan 4, 2013 17:14
oh yeah?
Jan 4, 2013 17:14
oh, didn't realise links didn't work
Jan 4, 2013 17:14
cool!
Jan 4, 2013 17:14
I like picking some odd rare, like [mtg:Zur's Weirding], and then building a deck around it.
Jan 4, 2013 17:13
Honestly, I could never afford it. And it didn't suit my play style. I'm more interested in building cool decks with weird mechanics. Even if they aren't particularly good.
Jan 4, 2013 17:12
hmm, maybe I moved to 6ed then. I never competed in tournaments, so I could be misremembering
Jan 4, 2013 17:11
still have interrupts though
Jan 4, 2013 17:11
no, there's a stack
Jan 4, 2013 17:11
I still play 5th edition rules. :)
Jan 4, 2013 17:10
I like MTG a lot, but stopped collecting after they changed the card format. I just couldn't get used to the new look.
Jan 4, 2013 17:09
do you guys play anything other than magic? ;)
Jan 4, 2013 17:07
well done on keeping our chatroom alive!

hello there!

I agree with David that a meta post is the way to go

@Jin Checkered boards, dice, cards - those sort of things are pretty iconic

All the SE sites are failing-over to the Oregon data centre.
Oct 30, 2012 01:19
yes. Hurricane Sandy, I believe.
Oct 30, 2012 01:15
the key phrase there is 'if they are ambiguous'. I agree the tag wikis should be clear about what the tags mean.
Oct 30, 2012 01:12
@MonicaCellio This kind of thing gets tricky fast, and it's a bit of a can of worms. Tags like that don't apply to any other game presumably don't need any disambiguation. One can also argue that prepending go is redundant, given the presence of on the question.
Oct 30, 2012 01:09
I'd particularly like @mafutrct's opinion on some of these.
Oct 30, 2012 01:08
The 9x9 tag is an excellent example of how some of these tags may be quite subtle.
Oct 30, 2012 01:07
@all - Be careful with the Go tags. There are a lot of specialised tags because of the migration from the Go site. I wouldn't want to mess with them too much without guidance from the Go players in our community.

A: A grace period of one day to award the bounty after expiration (without remaining featured, of course)

Jeff AtwoodNo, this doesn't make sense to me -- "just one more day", well, why not just two more days? or three? or four? or seven? Where does it end? The bounty has a defined start and end period, everyone knows what they are as these dates are printed indelibly on the bountied question for the entirety o...

@Pureferret Yes, that's correct.
Oct 28, 2012 19:58
hmm, interesting
Oct 28, 2012 19:56
minimum working example?

MWE?
Oct 28, 2012 19:53
@Canageek I don't think that ever happens to me. If it's not worth an upvote, it's not worth my time to answer. If it's poorly written, I edit it and then upvote.

It seemed to me the question was asking more about general balance of the characters, @Paul Marshall. Sure you're not interested in taking a crack?
Oct 27, 2012 01:14

Q: Betrayal at House on the Hill characters: Strength and Weaknesses?

PureferretThe character cards for Betray at the house on the Hill are very complicated, in so much as the track you move the traits along are not linear. Different character's traits start in different places and progress at different speeds. How can I factor this in when picking a character? I can easil...

@Pureferret That's a mighty big bounty you posted on your question!
