@Fe2O3 yeah and theres where the Community comes in and helps OPs to better shape their posts and help with word choice etc. Also, your answer is currently -7, that surely tells you something right?
Jul 5 00:29
@Job_September_2020 and ColleenV yes Community Manager. On situations and topic like these we Elected Mods do have to act and handle things certain way, and escalate to them when topics like these arise. I hope you understand a bit more now, and see that, as always, my intentions on editing are good. I'll prune some comments here eventually as we, ironically, derailed here explaining the edit aimed to avoid derailing haha :) have a good day you all
Jul 5 00:29
@ColleenV i get your point, and that's why its a very common practice to quote with ">" parts of the OP you are answering (btw which one was affected? I see that answers use quotes so context is preserved). So if a post ever changes (very likely) the answers under it (that not always change when a post changes) stay mostly relevant and useful. This is also a sensitive topic, and a delicate word too, and is prone to derail or distract from the goal of answering and helping OP (thus my edits and use of "synonyms"). We already escalated to CM about OP and its situation. I hope OP is doing better
Jul 5 00:29
I agree with @TheDemonLord I took an edit to the post, it is very answerable indeed, so i removed the word that was probably distracting everyone and triggering their VTC impulses. And also to OP, please seek professional help! Reading your post got me worried, I can imagine other users being worried too! You are worth WAY WAY WAY MORE than any job you may land or be rejected from, so dont take that way.

Huh... I just stumbled upon this, what do you think about this guys?
Feb 7 17:18
@Boots Hello Sir! hope you are doing good in life :) yeah things have changed a lot eh! I see you deleted your acc; I do remember you, and MaskedMan and yeah what Player One said has truth in it unfortunately
Jan 27 18:28
I would like you invite you all to be more thoughtful on your reviews. Reviewing is important for the community and for the content we curate. Its also an important responsibility, as taking it lightly may result in work-able posts to be misjudged and, ultimately, the OP not getting an answer/help.

but.... it was also something that can be very easily edited into shape, remove the should I, rephrase it a bit, and, most importantly, allow time for users to answer and HELP the user.
Jan 27 18:26
Another key aspect is that it did have the "should i ..." on the body of the post, which taking it objectively is many times something off-topic
Jan 27 18:25
This was a classic example. Its a new user so surely they don't know how to perfectly word every question.

Q: Incoming colleague criticizing manager

jebobA peer from another part of my organization criticized my line manager (who I think highly of) in a private discussion to me, and I didn't react. However, due to office politics the peer will be joining our team for half the week (and remaining in their old role for the rest of the week). Would ...

@AdamBurke Ive posted some comments on your post... the "trigger happy" issue (aka, users casting votes to close more quickly than they should, and not pausing to see the real value of a question) is not something new, and perhaps seasonal depending on the core active users on each moment/season

Happy new year to everybody!

Mar 5, 2024 00:57
@JoeStrazzere Hey Joe, sorry to super ping you. Just to ask why you gold-badge opened a post I closed as dupe. I thought you did it to post an answer but I see no answer, just reopoened when it is very dupe

We have a cross-post situation. This post is completely on-topic on TWP, so perhaps we should migrate answers there? wanted to get your thoughts about this matter

Hello there!

Oct 8, 2024 20:34
Saw notification about this and decided to come and look. Any reasons for the lack of candidates? Is this stack growing in traffic? I'm already mod on TWP so I don't know if I can commit to another one (fortunately Im just above the 300 threshold hehe)

Never have I seen nomination period being increased for lack of candidates. Anything I can help with?
Oct 8, 2024 20:32
Was a bout to ask the reason for election but Polygeo answers that on the Election chat (two mods stepping down).

@Some-Interviewee-2024 I think Kilisi means that they don't see a positive side for you... In general, people here give advice for the benefit of the person asking (you in this case, and future users) not for the benefit of a company we don't even know (nor do you)... I can understand how you feel, and that you may feel a sense of "making justice" or fight horrible things like this topic. However, "making justice" by your hands is also not morally correct (and illegal in many places), and will also not undo the things this person did. Whatever you do, proceed with caution...

"It is entirely possible they have done no sort of background check on him and aren't aware of his sex offender status, or that such things are public record in the US." - I feel this is a week assumption, in general it's actually more likely to assume a BG check has been made rather than it wasn't (at least in the US). "Given the above, I feel a moral obligation to bring this to the company's attention." - Do you? I don't think you have any obligation, you don't even work for them (yet), nor it's your job to be auditing and looking up information and background about their employees.
