@AllisonC i think the reason my cat loves belly rubs and brushing is because everything gets stuck in his fur,i can tell where he has been by what is stuck inhis fur :).i have a couple of roe deer visiting my property and it looks like my cat likes them because they are not scared of him.

@JourneymanGeek he is a beauty,i have seen a lot of the videos that the girl with the dogs have posted she has many videos with beautiful cats and dogs.

@Stephie he loves belly rubs,he flips over instantly when he see me :) he weighs 7,5 kg and with 1 inch claws so he can do some serious damage if i dont behave.he spends all the time he possibly can outside and he forgets to eat for 12-14hrs at times.

@JourneymanGeek burrs are a big problem that comes on top of other stuff that gets stuck in his fur, many plants have a hook on their seeds not only burrs.everything from sand to snails can and will get stuck in the fur.last year my cat and i had a debate about brushing,he did run outside only to return two min later with about 20 or so burrs stuck to his hind legs and walking funny.

i tried to brush it out of his fur for a week but it was impossible to remove it.i have nobody to help me in holding him so it takes some time and patience from him when i have to remove it.
Apr 21 05:13
i had to shave the other hind leg of my cat yesterday using a hair trimmer,he got a big lump of matted fur that i needed to remove and i know it is painfull for him but he gets over it faster than i do.
Apr 21 05:05
that answer did look opinion based, some sources could have improved it a bit.

he is a very good boy and he flips over on his back as soon as he see the brush even if must hurt when i try to untanle his fur.
Apr 16 05:24
thank you allison,i brush him twice a day and he still gets matted fur,it is the undercoat that is problematic.maybe somebody here know of a better brush, the brush i use now is for dogs and i get a lot of fur off him but he still get matted on the chest and belly.

it is very hard to treat something that is caused by the diet and there is little evolutionary pressure as the problem happens late in life.
Apr 14 03:42
after the fox attack i fund that she had kidney problems,i hope there will be an effective treatment soon,,all cats get kidney problems from siberian tigers to housecats.

i have had a coupe of scares with my cat`s over the years but nothing close to what your kitten has experienced.the last time was 10 years ago,my cat electra got injured by a fox,i came home from work and found a lot of her fur behind my house,i ws sure she was dead but then i found a lot of fur from the fox and started to look for her i found her in my attic she had lost a lot of fur and had a coupe of scratches on both sides of her body but nothing that needed treatment.
Apr 11 05:28
the little guy could easily have died from that injury,i dont know what i had done to the dog if this had been my cat.it is a bad place to get injured with all the facial nerves running close to the eye but if he can close the eye and move the ear then the nerves are inntact.
Apr 10 05:55
i had to shave a big lump of matted fur from the innside of my cats hind leg this morning,,it was the size of a matchbox and smelling badly of pee.my lillepus was yelling from start to finish he did not get scared or angry and was very happy to get it removed.
Apr 10 05:21
@AllisonC i feel sorry for the kitten as it is probably getting the permanent teeth just about now, adding to the problem with the broken jaw.

my cat lives outdoors and i only see him when he is hungry or wants to get brushed, today he has been inside for 11min(it is the time eating and brushing takes).he eats only morning and evening and once during the night,he demands me to watch him eat or he leaves starving.he is a two and a half year old maine coon that weighs 7,3kg,this is the ideal weight for a male maine coon.

@Koro i am glad the kitten survived and is on it`s way to recover.
May 29, 2024 10:27
@Koro you can take a look at this Q&A pets.stackexchange.com/questions/28260/… my answer there can maybe be of some help,as it is now the vet is your best option and please give an update after the vet visit :)
May 29, 2024 03:20
when you say trauma it usually means the kitten has been bitten or hit by something causing injury, jumping or falling can cause injuries too.
May 29, 2024 03:06
@Koro if the kitten are still not eating you need to get help from your vet, your vet will know what quetions to ask and what examinations to do.
May 28, 2024 14:30
@Koro if a kitten stop eating and drinking for more than 12 hrs you need to get him to a vet,and never give milk to cats this is even more important for a cat that is ill, kittens can quickly get dehydrated from diarrhea if they drink milk after they are weaned from their mothers milk.

happy and exhausted :)
Apr 19, 2024 04:57
my cat has lost some weight over the last month or so,he eats the normal amount of food,4x65 grams of wet food + about 50 grams of dry food a day, this is very close to the recomended daily food intake for a 7 kg cat.
Apr 19, 2024 04:33
@Stephie glad to hear that the bloodwork came back normal, many cats start to snore as they get older, most of the time it is normal and not a sign of problems but if it is a young cat it needs to be checked by a vet to see what the cause might be.
Apr 19, 2024 04:05
@JourneymanGeek i use bravecto spoton against ticks and fleas and it works :).against internal parasites i use profender,i try not to give the two treatments at the same time.
Apr 18, 2024 06:27
i have treated my lillepus against ticks,i only see him a couple of times during the day and only for a few minutes each time.
Apr 16, 2024 04:07
@Stephie at ten years old you should start giving him kidney food in combination with his regular food.
Apr 16, 2024 03:54
i need to treat my cat against ticks,he knows how to find them and i don`t like to have them crawlling around in my house.
Apr 14, 2024 05:44
the last time i got a male kitten was in 1975 he lived to be 18 years old,i had forgotten how wild they get in spring when the snow is gone.
Apr 14, 2024 04:42
i have to follow him one day to see how far he goes,i know the direction but not how far he goes.i think he has been in one or more fights judging by how his fur looks.
Apr 14, 2024 04:31
@JourneymanGeek i think females and males are involved in this, but my lillepus lost his family jewels last year so no kittens for him.
Apr 12, 2024 13:25
it has lasted for many days now and his fur looks like he has been partying for a week.
Apr 12, 2024 13:19
my cat lillepus is going crazy outdoors,i only see him when he is hungry and only for the time it takes for him to eat.
Dec 31, 2023 06:51
and i did wake up at 0100,icewater in my face does that to me.my waking up time has improved after i got lillepus :)
Dec 20, 2023 19:26
i have a maine coon now so a christmas tree is a thing of the past LOL.
Dec 3, 2023 06:50
i got my lillepus a dog door,he weighs 7,1kg so a normal catflap is too tiny for him.he found out how to use it yesterday,it is minus 14C outside this morning and he still stayed outside for over an hour.i never let my cat outside if it is below minus 10C but if he let himself out and back inside it must be okay for him.
Oct 31, 2023 10:50
this is a picture from feb 6-23,same cat and same cat tree i guess he has grown a bit LOL.
