@MichaelMrozek @Gilles ^ I'm thinking of closing this btrfs question as too localized, it has occurred to me that the status of the filesystem is ever changing and that all answers are speculative
btrfs has finally found its way into the latest kernels, is it considered stable and safe enough to use in a home backup scenario (as an alternative to zfs) ?
I have weekly backups too... my computer took forever to boot, seems like I'm lucky it did at all... but one of my mirrors is now offline, running smart selftest on the disk. will likely have to force some kind of resync
@michaelmrozek werd. I've been thinking about resigning due to my ever increasing lack of time since I volunteered. Do you think I should? basically feel like I've left you holding the ball, but I didn't realize that was going to happen.
How can I set the video mode in Linux the low level way? As far as I know the lowest layer in userspace would be to request KMS via DRM. Is this correct? And if so, how could I achieve a mode switch and access to the associated "video memory"?
