You kinda just glazed over it, but you said they called the volunteers and all of them said, "...they where pissed off and wouldn't do it." What was it they were mad about? It seems like that could be salient information.

@Xirema I feel like the designers were stuck with an impossible situation w/ regards to Sorcerers and Warlocks because of 1 level dip multiclassing. I greatly appreciate that PF2e was cognizant of those issues and generally barred it, but allowing some flex via archetype feats (you can get some of what that class does, but definitely not the best parts).
May 6 16:41
I was today years old when I learned that the 2014 stirge is a beast and therefore valid for a druid to wild shape into.
Apr 16 19:22
@VLAZ thanks!
Apr 16 17:43
Is that something I can opt out of?
Apr 16 17:43
Is there a reason that there are multiple links to various TTRPG being posted by 'Feeds'?

May 23 14:16
Ok, so looking through everything you wrote I get your dissatisfaction with OA and the associated drawbacks with them, I also get why you deleted the whole shpiel (probably was leaning too much into personal opinions). FWIW, I don't disagree and generally prefer PF2e's model that limits who can use OA.

Maybe instead provide some comparisons to similar spells that don't trigger OA like Spiritual Weapon.
May 23 14:05
I'm just now realizing there were something like 5 revisions since I saw the original post yesterday.
May 23 14:04
@ThomasMarkov @NobodytheHobgoblin so I haven't yet upvoted this answer in part because it hasn't really listed nor said anything different than what I provided in the original question. Mostly, it's just repeating back to me what I've already identified.

May 8 23:21
Can you take a look at the wording of your last sentence again? I've been trying to distill your intent, but have not been successful.
May 8 23:21
I would note that just because something is using a Bonus Action doesn't mean it's not magical. A wizard using Misty Step is still doing something magical that can be targeted by a Counterspell or have issues in an AMF.

Feb 25 22:54
But that's my LARP and it's a completely worthless answer for your question.
Feb 25 22:54
Now if we knew we were doing an escort mission and had the target before leaving town, we'd probably want to complete a couple of buffing rituals like Iron Heart and Iron Limb on them to keep less susceptible to instant death attacks.
Feb 25 22:53
Given taps only take 1 minute to setup, we'd rely on that for keeping hit points topped up.
Feb 25 22:53
If we have Rogues in the party, we want to provide as much distraction as possible for them to set up Waylays so we can eliminate opponents quickly.
Feb 25 22:52
Sword and boards need to move to the front, blasters behind them to provide firing support.
Feb 25 22:52
Once combat occurs, we're generally committing to hold ground and setting up healing taps.
Feb 25 22:51
Now it's LARP in light forests, so we'll probably see the ambush before we hear it.
Feb 25 22:51
If our squad is traveling in a group together, typically we send 1-2 stealthy folks to the front to both check for traps as well as enemies. If they are ambushed they can rely on their Eludes to escape and warn the rest.
Feb 25 22:50
I'll give you an example of this situation for my LARP, but I'm not going to provide much clarifying information.
Feb 25 22:48
And honestly, you might need to post all of your rules plus a bunch of discussion on how your group interprets those rules to get a 'right' answer.
Feb 25 22:48
There's an overriding goal with all questions and answers to generally be valid in perpetuity. For this reason, when questions lack enough info to provide a proper answer, they are closed.
Feb 25 22:47
You're new to SE, so you may not know this yet, but what you're asking for isn't really something I can give you.
Feb 25 22:46
Even still, I didn't know that hits to the leg might be relatively inconsequential.
Feb 25 22:44
And that's why I had to VtC
Feb 25 22:44
I can give you a rough answer to the question for my game and someone else can give you a rough answer for their game. But I don't know that anyone can give you an answer for your game unless they actually play it.
Feb 25 22:43
Some LARPs have really simple rules, others have rule books that are over 100 pages (which is what my game falls into).
Feb 25 22:42
If you get hit in the chest, you die. But is that the case if you're wearing armor?
Feb 25 22:41
For example, earlier you mentioned that a hit to the limb incapacitates it, but what if you get hit there again? Do you die?
Feb 25 22:41
The issue that you just raised with the forced movement, though, is exactly what I'm talking about. The mechanics of such skills have a big impact on tactics and we just don't know the rules of your game to give advice.
Feb 25 22:40
@FallenLightblade VtC is shorthand for Vote to Close.
Feb 25 22:39
@FallenLightblade unfortunately, I need to VtC then. The LARP I play has plenty of martial and magical effects that inflict forced movement (so sword and board won't work - unless you have a Cavalier using their standard - and if you don't have that then folks are going to get knocked out of formation). Additionally, our LARP has spell effects that have chaining burst effects, which means being shoulder to shoulder is a TERRIBLE idea because literally the whole front line will explode together. Without knowing the rules of your exact LARP, I don't know that we can advise on tactics.
Feb 25 22:39
If the latter is your intent, I think we would need to close the question barring A LOT of additional info. We don't know the rules for your game so we won't know how any specific tactics will work with your system's rules.
Feb 25 22:39
I'm not clear on what your intent is here. When I read the title, the first thought I had was that you're trying to run a LARP with just a few people. But based on the post, it seems like you're trying to develop squad tactics.

Jan 20 18:09
@HighDiceRoller my goal is to have something I can understand a bit more easily, if that's possible. Right now, it looks like you're using a Python script that I don't understand at all to answer the question. I'm not suggesting your answer is wrong, rather I don't understand how it works.
Jan 20 15:33
By removing this element, to the maximum extent possible, I was deliberately removing the to-hit element of the equation for the sake of making it easier to complete the calculation. Similar to how a lot of textbook physics questions will tell you to ignore air resistance.
Jan 20 15:31
When I started doing some math for this, I found that it was getting very complicated without factoring things like successful saves vs. to hit on AC. In the interest of simplifying things, I opted to just nix those elements because they are highly variable and were adding a degree of unnecessary complexity to things.

@user1271772 this comment could be phrased a lot less antagonistically.

Oct 21, 2024 19:15
@ObliviousSage could this just be consolidated into a single chat instead? Meta's a bit clunky for back and forth discussion and might be a better location once some sort of proposal comes out of the chat.

I am voting to close as this site's purpose (from the tour) is intended for, "...questions about an actual problem you have faced." Hypotheticals do not meet this criteria.

I've gone and added individual country tags to help address the unique interactions which may be at play here. It's entirely possible that this is illegal for one country and legal for another.

To the extent you can, since you have ADHD, try and get yourself psyched about a new project with regards to finding a new company.
Jul 23, 2024 15:18
You'll be in a stronger negotiating position if you're currently employed.
Jul 23, 2024 15:17
Either way, if you're getting messages from recruiters, consider responding to a few and seeing what's out there.
Jul 23, 2024 15:16
With regards to the other issues, I skimmed through the various posts you've made in chat over the last few months and feel you might need to consider other opportunities. It sounds like the position you're currently in isn't a good fit with regards to either workload, team dynamics, or a potential skill issue.
Jul 23, 2024 15:15
It helps to take a step back and assess if you're at least partially at fault (you might not be, but you should take an honest look).
Jul 23, 2024 15:14
Sometimes folks definitely could phrase things better, but they might also be frustrated.

@localhost Usually my response when someone conveys criticism that was given harshly, I ask, "Are they right?"
