Without the information in this title, the question does not work and would be rejected outright. I did not change any other aspects of the question.

This novel was written in 1985, so spoilers don't seem to make much sense at this point. But I felt the question was useless without the information so I added it back.

A basic income (also called unconditional basic income, Citizen's Income, basic income guarantee, universal basic income or universal demogrant) is a form of social security in which all citizens or residents of a country regularly receive an unconditional sum of money, either from a government or some other public institution, in addition to any income received from elsewhere. An unconditional income transfer of less than the poverty line is sometimes referred to as a partial basic income. Basic income systems that are financed by the profits of publicly owned enterprises (often called social...

Dangerous to politicians who dare to speak on the subject of basic income.
Nov 9, 2016 19:30
Here is an essay on the subject including the related (and politically dangerous topic of "basic income")

This means a greater percentage of our society will become unemployed faster than they can learn new skills to replace those jobs.
Nov 9, 2016 19:29
Part of the issue is the inability of the job market to create new jobs for workers at the same rate automation is removing them.
Nov 9, 2016 19:28
The problem is FAR more significant and only likely to grow more pressing in the years to come as automation, robotics and near-intelligent machines continue to erode more white collar workers in the future.
Nov 9, 2016 19:27
There are significant underlying pressures which have no easy answers making them very poor topics for politicians who insist every conversation be able to end in a collapsible and easily digested sound bite.
Nov 9, 2016 19:26
Automation and the slow erosion of the workforce is a real and pressing threat to the economic stability of this nation that very few political candidates want to address.

Then I am stepping out of it and letting you deal with it in any way you see fit.

But even if it doesn't it should still be better than any other software.
Oct 18, 2016 22:54
It may not.

I have over five hundred post in WordPress. They are all formatted there and have no issues to speak of.
Oct 18, 2016 22:45
MSWORD is notorious for adding unwanted formatting to your documents. Your best bet is to save them as text and import them that way. Check the HTML configuration to see if there are any unwanted elements in your text. Format while in WordPress for maximum quality.
Oct 18, 2016 22:44
Creating your text in a simple text editor stops bad formatting from entering your document before you even start. Write your essay in Notepad++ and you can bring it directly into WordPress with no formatting issues AT ALL.
Oct 18, 2016 22:43
WordPress doesn't have to screw up anything if you know what you are doing.
Oct 18, 2016 22:28
I agree. It makes for a great single writer's blog and little else.

Medium is an excellent platform for a lot of things but it has issues around different aspects and the lack of threaded comments and answers IS HUGE.

Tumblr is pretty but I am not sure how much longer they are going to be around either.

WordPress is the industry standard with mad customization options unequaled by ANYONE.
Oct 18, 2016 22:24
It has lagged behind in features and abilities.

Blogger may be relatively easy, but I think Google will be killing it soon.

Trust me, I have used ALL of the others.
Oct 18, 2016 22:23
WordPress is a great platform. It takes time to learn to use it.
Oct 18, 2016 22:20
There will be no single perfect solution. This is simply about keeping what we have and migrating to another site. A WordPress to WordPress transfer should be the easiest and most effective way to make it happen. Not perfect, certainly. But easier than transferring to any other platform.
Oct 18, 2016 22:19
If you import the accounts from wordpress, all of the data will come with them. For those people who are no longer with us, we simply list their name and keep it moving. People who want to continue will get an account and then they can post when they coordinate with the administrator(s).
