@J.Musser Nice to "see" you again!
Jan 25 19:27
I'm envious, we have snow which is better than the previous few days of temperatures between - 10 deg C and -15 deg Celsius.
Jan 25, 2024 14:33
Lucky you, we just got freezing rain over the snow and next up is rain before we return to sub zero temperatures until March. Not even thinking about spring till I see the buds plump up on the trees
Dec 27, 2023 12:25
@MartinSleziak thanks for your work on this. The results are not encouraging as the long term trend is downwards for questions and answers
Dec 26, 2023 16:11
@MartinSleziak It appears that the number of questions is trending downwards and will soon be at the same number as 10 years ago in 2013

Everything in my garden is fast asleep underneath the mulch and snow!
Nov 17, 2023 14:38
the minimum temperatures in northern areas seem a little low for the North East. Anyone else see anything new?

Wonderful article on the elusive American fruit tree, the pawpaw
Feb 9, 2023 12:39
@redfrogcrab Hi ho, have a gardening question? Most of us are hibernating till spring...but the site is active
Jan 2, 2023 12:44
@NiallC. that is heroic for a plant that normally flowers in summer!
Jul 5, 2022 10:46
Sure, consistency is a virtue when displaying information. Not sure how many G&L users will notice...
Jun 21, 2022 11:25
nice looking raised beds!
May 10, 2022 11:23
We get less invisible tree pollen in a few weeks. You know it's happening if you are sneezing
Apr 22, 2022 01:13
Sigh, we are still getting cold temperatures and a bit of snow even though the ground has warmed up.
Mar 17, 2022 14:04
@Stephie funny, that plant is considered an invasive in eastern North America. One gardeners native plant is anothers....
Sep 27, 2021 11:27
@FaheemMitha the site here, gardening.stackexchange.com/questions, is the best place to ask a question. We'll see if anyone knows who comes to the chat room
Sep 26, 2021 17:37
Baffling that this would be done even by accident. The Responsiveness flag seems to be toggled off and on for various pages in a manner which seems random
Sep 20, 2021 22:46
Once the mod team is elected I propose they meet with them and propose to get cracking on picture resizing and any other issues of note
Sep 20, 2021 22:45
I will meet with any mod team that will have me - at a time that works for you, in a medium that works for you (I'll do video, I'll do audio, I'll do chat... whatever you want) and talk about (almost any) topics that are important to your team and its functioning on the network.
Sep 20, 2021 22:45
The Community Manager has extended this offer to the Mod team
Sep 20, 2021 17:43
Hello everyone, hope you will drop by and ask any questions about the election or, really, anything about Gardening and Landscaping
Jul 29, 2021 17:11
@Vorac aa little neglect goes a long way
May 17, 2021 00:06
Hm, our rhubarb is big enough to harvest too. Looks great!
Apr 19, 2021 11:33
@Self yes, just post a question on the forum and tell us which directions the windows face and what kind of plant you are looking for
Apr 10, 2021 12:07
Just this once you have snow and we are in spring with none to be seen
Mar 25, 2021 15:24
@BenceKaulics if you want to try I am happy to review and improve if needed. most of the tags can start from a dictionary definition
Mar 25, 2021 13:17
@BenceKaulics that is a huge amount of work you have done on the tags. Did you know there is a smaller list on G&L meta that doesn't have descriptions either? gardening.meta.stackexchange.com/tags
Aug 21, 2020 12:39
@Stephie Thank you. Do we have to ask before shipping it over like Bryan Krause did?
Aug 21, 2020 10:33
@Stephie I see black thumb has flagged the question about solar powered pumps as better on the electronics site. They do have solar power connected to various device questions so it does look like a better fit. The one answer to the question does not really answer the question. Do we have the tools to do that?
Aug 20, 2020 22:52
@Stephie the question is not about gardening but we have oddball questions so what's one more?
Jul 8, 2020 10:32
Good idea, a lot of time stuff just grows so a little TLC is a good idea. Gotta go walk the dogs before it gets too hot
Jul 8, 2020 10:30
I have seen mature serviceberrys that provide shade and thats why I planted it but after seven years it is just 2 metres tall
Jul 8, 2020 10:28
I bet you heard from the sparrows, the red squirrels, chipmunks and regular squirrels like them too. Maybe next year I will net the tree to ensure there are a few for us
Jul 8, 2020 10:26
Do you bake with them?
Jul 8, 2020 10:24
first year it has cropped enough to see them, birds love them
Jul 8, 2020 10:24
I have a serviceberry in my backyard
Jul 8, 2020 10:24
@Stephie
Jun 25, 2020 15:00
@Bonnibel Your location would be helpful and some info on the origin. Is this bought from a store, gift from a friend, found or rescued? For photos most ID key off the leaves and bark, A top down picture of the leave and closeup of the bark and or any flowers would be exceptional.
May 28, 2020 10:34
@FaheemMitha quite low in nutrients compared to commercial fertilizers, but a organic product. what do you intend to fertilize?
Jan 27, 2020 00:02
@4-K Winter in the Northern Hemisphere? Most gardeners hibernate until spring... :)
Aug 30, 2019 16:41
Good, that it is really an improvement. I remember when they came out with "Lo-Gro" sumac and claimed it would not get more than half a meter tall. The parent plants got 4 meters tall. Seems Lo-Gro was short for a few years and then reverted to a usual height..
Aug 30, 2019 16:34
@Stephie from Wikipedia, the hybridizers have been busy ..."During the Cold War, Russian and East German horticulturists developed new varieties with greater nutritional value, larger berries, different ripening months and branches that are easier to harvest." Wondered if any varieties are available where you are
Aug 30, 2019 15:00
@Stephie Is this an improved variety? That you want to eat the berries?
May 3, 2019 01:47
@Stephie I see you can stay there for $141 Canadian a night. Described as a four star hotel, upscale property with breakfast. Guess the accommodation has improved since 1692...
Apr 10, 2019 16:52
@WYSIWYG sorry, I don't think this is on topic. Most likely to be a commercial forestry thing...
Nov 2, 2018 23:03
@Bamboo well, not open on two sites at once. Was open on G&L, two answers, now open on Biology
