Add the General case

Maybe this ist more philosophical, but can IT be that a certain Insight ist better understood from a 1d creature thank from a 2d, outside of what IT feels to be in the former
Feb 27, 2023 21:56
Sorry for Bad capitalization

Mmh i think of gödels incompleteness vs consistency Like the halting Problem, because the solution i ready where very similar. But ist the Numbers of "different" unprovable Statements Infinite? Like different thoughtbranches of a Axiom based system. That there are infinitely many of the Same branch i understand by now.
Feb 27, 2023 17:15
Why does the Principe of induction Not Work in gödels incompleteness, Like OK there ist a Statement that ist true but Not provable by some theory, then add that and all next Statements too that occur by the Same logic
Feb 27, 2023 17:10
Hi can x!-y! Be expressed differently (Not Just writing ist Out)
Feb 19, 2023 06:28
Also have a A1 day
Feb 19, 2023 06:25
Can a Infinite Powertower equal a negative Numbers? I assume yes with a complex x, but I can Not find anything on the topic.
Dec 6, 2021 06:15
and probability per try times tries is simply the expected value or?
Dec 6, 2021 06:12
probabilities like 1/1,000,000 per try
Dec 6, 2021 06:11
How big can the error be: Instead of using the binomial coefficient to calc probability of something happening over x tries, simply multiply by tries. Of course with reason, as it is obvious that the chance that I throw heads in 2 tries is not 100% ;)
Dec 3, 2021 04:44
Ok, I figured my real problem out. I don't understand the probabilistic method.
Dec 3, 2021 04:19
Didn't even know you can proof something with probability. Lucky day
Dec 3, 2021 04:14
...Still sceptical, but I guess it's right haha
Dec 3, 2021 04:09
But that's what youtube decided to throw in my suggestions :D
Dec 3, 2021 04:08
Probably!
Dec 3, 2021 04:07
just watched it and I don't understand the proof at all
Dec 3, 2021 04:07
yes, you can use fewer
Dec 3, 2021 03:58
Where am I wrong?
Dec 3, 2021 03:58
then just place the rest of the points somewhere, such that the down point is the middle of a slightly bigger circle
Dec 3, 2021 03:57
if the red line is the radius of the unit circle
Dec 3, 2021 03:57
ibb.co/WkNsLLm the 3 upper points can't all be covered by nonoverlapping circles
Dec 3, 2021 03:53
Why does the 45 configuration-technique not apply to ten?
Dec 3, 2021 03:52
I don't understand why 10 points can always be covered by 10 non-overlapping unit-circles

An item in diablo 2 has usually a fingerprint which is 4 bytes big. So that would be 2^32 possibilities if I'm right. What is the formula to calculate the neccessary items to have a P% chance to have 2 or more items with the same fingerprint? This is just the birthday paradoxon with different numbers or?
Nov 10, 2021 13:00
Does it make sense? "The odds are low (or high)"? and what does it mean?
Oct 29, 2021 14:12
I tend to think it's one of 0.25 or 0.5
Oct 29, 2021 14:11
OK another try: $P(A∧\neg B)=0.5$ , $P(B∧\neg A)=0.25$ and $P(A∧B)=0.25$. Can I deduct the chance for A when B is given?
Oct 29, 2021 13:54
latex too hard haha
Oct 29, 2021 13:53
Ok, lets say suffix is event A, prefix B. Then $P(A\nand B)=0.5$ , $P(B \nand A)=0.25$ and $P(A\and B)=0.25%$. So now the questions is, if B is given, what's the chance of A. Can that be deducted from those chances?
Oct 29, 2021 09:32
"Magical items have a 50% chance of a suffix only, 25% chance of a prefix only, and 25% chance of both." How to determine from these facts the chance that a Item with a prefix also has a suffix? is it 25% or 50%?
Oct 25, 2021 11:59
How is the problem called? You want to cross a river with a boat, but it has a current. So you have to travel at a specific angle to cross it the fastest way possible.
Oct 15, 2021 07:54
i think that's called amplitude
Oct 15, 2021 07:54
the waves height is also arbitrary
Oct 15, 2021 07:52
has a wave with an arbitrary small frequency a finite length? that would be in a sense fractal and smooth at the same time
Oct 15, 2021 06:43
can a surface be fractal and smooth at the same time?
Oct 15, 2021 06:38
@leslietownes Ah ok. I don't have something in mind, just find the surface area of a ball/sphere interesting. I'll check it out.
Oct 15, 2021 06:23
What is a good book about the surface area of smooth things?
Sep 25, 2021 17:17
Is there a mathematical proof that is not verifiable by any human?
Sep 25, 2021 17:01
@shintuku what was the solution to your $y-y^3$ with [-1,1]?
Sep 23, 2021 22:36
oops, $1-3y^2$ should be it
Sep 23, 2021 22:34
to look for a extremum
Sep 23, 2021 22:33
@shintuku is that what deriviative is for? y-y^3-> 1-2y^2?
Sep 23, 2021 17:05
Why not make $z=(1-y^2)^2y$?
Sep 23, 2021 17:02
@shintuku I can only think of arguing vague, that x must be larger than y, because it where small the product would be even smaller
Sep 23, 2021 17:01
So it's impossible? Is every paradox impossible?
Sep 23, 2021 16:59
Ah that set must include itself, but then it is a member of itself.
Sep 23, 2021 16:54
What is a simple logic paradox?
Sep 6, 2021 21:59
Ah it can save time when the evaluation of one variable is expensive I see.
