Nothing running?

@RoryAlsop Thank you! Much appreciated. Thankful to see this site continuing in good hands.
Jul 14, 2021 14:08
Congratulations @RoryAlsop on your election! and welcome, congrats @WedaPashi, @Willeke!

Thanks @JonathanReez for highlighting that. I can understand that perspective - but I tend to lean towards what @RoryAlsop said - mods can and should use their votes well, so I tend to not vote most of the time, but I felt this case warranted it.

@Ricketyship I totally get that. As @RoryAlsop said, we have different styles of what we do and are better at. Some of us respond on Meta more and others handle flags quicker, etc. Our team is pretty solid and low-key, which is something I've come to appreciate.

@RoryAlsop commented on that post, sums it up well. Comments are great for the short things, but as he said, it would be great to flesh things out. Personally, comments are borderline on a lot of things, and often they can be left, or deleted as well. It's fine to add your education as well.
Mar 28, 2018 12:27
absolutely no worries. If I felt it was too much of a mess, I would have deleted everything, but it seemed like a great conversation, so I wanted to keep that going for y'all.

@Sue Merry Christmas Sue - thank you!

Closing this question as opinion-based, partly due to the significant discussion generated that is not helpful or constructive. Please take the opportunity to review this further on Meta if desired.

I'd like to wish everyone luck on the election, best wishes to all moving forward.

The "Reset a computer account" is exactly what I'm looking for.
Oct 8, 2019 18:48
Thanks @yagmoth555. Does the delegation wizard allow you to modify existing delegated permissions?
Oct 8, 2019 18:28
@yagmoth555: your instincts are spot on. Sounds like my SID is in question - been wondering how to work with that.
Oct 8, 2019 18:15
I get an error after joining a certain number of times, and a DA works around that, but I'm curious if I can figure out what the threshold is and how to track that.
Oct 8, 2019 18:14
Popping in here for a question that I'm having trouble using my google-fu on - is there a way to tell how many times a workstation in my domain has been joined to the domain?

Hey all!

 Root Access

For all you Super Users out there. You have backups, right?
Jan 22, 2019 17:49
@bwDraco It has been a while!
Jan 22, 2019 17:49
ended up putting old SSD back to fit, getting a 2.5 SATA to put in the free slot. Everyone wins, if it all comes online!
Jan 22, 2019 16:44
that's hilarious. Obviously didn't look at the lichen/moss enough!
Jan 22, 2019 16:20
plastic under it, no chips or motherboard stuff, thankfully
Jan 22, 2019 16:19
It's because the 2-sided SSDs are too thick, just a tad, so it puts slightly more pressure on the screw
Jan 22, 2019 16:15
@Bob shoot, meant SSD
Jan 22, 2019 16:15
@Bob oh definitely in, I've done lots of these for work
Jan 22, 2019 16:04
that'll be a good use
Jan 22, 2019 16:00
hahaha
Jan 22, 2019 15:59
PCIe/NVMe/SATA
Jan 22, 2019 15:59
stay out of it as long as you can. So many different kinds and configs, drives you nuts
Jan 22, 2019 15:59
that is sad
Jan 22, 2019 15:58
I think there's a 99% chance it's fine, but since it is for a friend, I don't want to screw it up - hence why I thought I'd ask for a head check
Jan 22, 2019 15:56
maybe the NAND part is what I'm mixing up
Jan 22, 2019 15:56
assuming I'm a dummy lol
Jan 22, 2019 15:56
oh, Crucial told me something else
Jan 22, 2019 15:55
@JourneymanGeek hey! they are, but that makes it flex, when I screw it down, even if not all the way.
Jan 22, 2019 15:49
I missed the hap birthday pin for you on the wall, David stood out because I know his username, haven't met you yet @Burgi
Jan 22, 2019 15:48
happy birthday to you as well @Burgi
Jan 22, 2019 15:44
@DavidPostill Hey, it's yo birthday!
Jan 22, 2019 15:44
Any M2 SSD stands up a bit on it's own, due to the pins/springs, but the 3D NAND takes every so much slightly more effort to push down as the chips on the bottom side make contact. One can see the SSD flexing ever so slightly... the PC sees the drive... think it's fine long term to allow it to flex 1-2 mm?
Jan 22, 2019 15:43
Need a head check... Upgrading SSD in a Lenovo laptop, from a one sided M2 SSD to a 3D NAND
Sep 4, 2018 02:42
@MichaelFrank I do get that aspect...
Sep 4, 2018 02:42
I'm personally not super fond of JS
Sep 4, 2018 02:42
@Bob thanks! Much appreciated. Was asking around for a friend, will take you up on that if I get to that point!
Sep 3, 2018 19:28
Here we go:
Sep 3, 2018 19:27
Yeah I looked at SO chatrooms, nothing stands out yet
Sep 3, 2018 19:26
@djsmiley2k been looking around, haven't found it yet
Sep 3, 2018 19:26
thinking of a chatroom for JS or any good live resources?
Sep 3, 2018 19:25
Any thoughts on a good chatroom/resource for learning Javascript solo? Going through classes remotely but don't have good resources for asking questions (besides browsing SO)...

Tempted to re-build my desktop, but it's so hard to justify when I have no need to sit at a desk.
