An eel, caught near Fukshima, that had swallowed a laser pen, might display these characteristics.

I think you've just exited the film industry. So, what's next?

May 28, 2021 16:36
I avoid flying (especially intercontinentally). The case for flying between continents seems eminently more justifiable than the case for flying within a continent, don't you think?

Don't skim read this (as I did), and think that these are steps - as in step one: stick metal in potato, step two: stick metal-in-potato in microwave!! As an aside, anyone know where I can get a new microwave (and skewer, and potato)

May 16, 2021 20:52
Was it an ethics exam?

May 13, 2021 13:31
Don't let this be the hill you die on

Mar 6, 2021 18:49
@RyanM I don't find your cherry-picking of said text remotely cute or amusing.
Mar 6, 2021 18:49
@RyanM The first sentence does not contradict my position, because, as mentioned, the question is valid for multiple jurisdictions - and would be of interest to anyone selling a car in those jurisdictions. And neither does the second. If you have any doubt, may I suggest you raise it on meta.
Mar 6, 2021 18:49
@RyanM Note that you're mistaken. The tag is reasonably clear about its intended use. Further, your argument is illogical. For instance, I filter out aspects of law that don't interest me. If United States law was one such aspect, by your argument, I'd have to include 50 (well, 51) filters, instead of just. Finally, while this question pertains to Texas, it applies equally to several other states (I can't be bothered to count how many)

Feb 27, 2021 16:06
@JonBentley That's the entire point of most businesses, but not all.

Feb 20, 2021 21:00
Do people actually have these sorts of conversations? We talk about the project in hand and who makes the best cake (we are not professional cake-makers)

Feb 1, 2021 13:53
It's your car. And both geography and disease are real phenomena, and anyway, obviously, you can do what you like. But just to observe that it's a little disingenuous to blame disease if the actual concern is geography.

Dec 22, 2020 10:55
Don't do this! Instead of all that pretentious-sounding and disingenuous twaddle, just say "Yours," (unless you wear a monocle and a smoking jacket) - also, you're being ovely polite to someone who has failed to honour their part of a contract.

Dec 15, 2020 15:32
@UTF-8 Are blind people not normal?

Dec 10, 2020 04:01
Anyway, let us know how you get on.

Isn't that the definition of 'infeasible'?

Note that it is theoretically possible for the professor to be right about the remedy, and wrong about the diagnosis.

It's refreshing that a state-owned network should rubbish the purchasing decisions of a same-state-owned airline.

Jul 12, 2020 05:08
It's called 'acting', right?

Jun 22, 2020 12:53
IANAL but Section 4.7 stating that "The applicant must not receive payment from a UK source for any activities undertaken in the UK" certainly seems to imply that receiving payment from a non-UK source for any activities undertaken in the UK is OK.

Jun 15, 2020 11:51
If I was in a position to do so, I would offer to split the difference

For context, the British Police seem to have killed 32 people in the last 20 years.

Mar 22, 2020 22:22
This is rather why we have lawyers. This is what they do.

The Wikipedia article seems fairly exhaustive

Jan 30, 2020 09:39
But there are so many examples of this in real life

Jan 9, 2020 13:45
Lots of people change careers. I know someone who was a struggling artist for many years (also doing a bit of teaching) before going back to college and completing a degree in computing. I won't say it's not a factor, but you've got to start somewhere, and once you're in the door, your past is irrelevant.

Dec 18, 2019 13:32
Don't agree with this one.

Dec 18, 2019 04:42
It's pathetic really. London used to have a functioning transport network at Christmas - far better than all those exhausted souls, drunk on too much brandy butter, ferrying relatives back and forth across town.

Dec 17, 2019 13:23
I'm actually struggling to understand the conclusion. Is there an excecutive summary, for us dummies?

Citizens of Britain be warned!

I'd be thrilled that someone wanted to come to my class, and was even prepared to lie and cheat to do it.

This is why constitutional change should not be mandated upon a simple majority

Or Feminism, or Vegetarianism for that matter.

Nov 29, 2019 19:19
But of course, at some point you have to decide whether some issues are more important than following the rules.

Nov 19, 2019 19:22
I would be sorely tempted to populate my calendar with intensely, embarrassingly personal information, just to see what happens!

Nov 12, 2019 19:19
Is it possilble that the talk was a little dull?

Sep 27, 2019 13:19
@JoeStrazzere I think I've agreed with every single answer of yours I've ever read on this site. But man, this is crazy. This is a staff canteen, not a restaurant - regardless of what they like to call themselves.

Aug 30, 2019 12:56
Incidentally, there's a important difference between being 'cheated on' and being 'cheated'. Being cheated on is what happens when your boss gets it on with your significant other.

Aug 29, 2019 17:08
Sweat pants are not 'comfortable clothing'. They're just clothes for people who cannot be bothered to wear clothes. I'm with Mum and Dad.

Aug 6, 2019 06:16
Sorry you saw that, but we are actually using a grading system where '1' means 'best'.

Jul 23, 2019 05:19
Just make sone nice art work from the pieces that you have

Jul 21, 2019 21:30
@DarrelHoffman That's a fault of your recollection!
Jul 21, 2019 21:30
Well there's two points in relation to JoeC's answer, aren't there: 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens of the United States, but it doesn't follow from that that they can be President (naturalized citizens cannot be President). 2. Only natural-born citizens can be President. So now we need to define 'natural-born'. Incidentally, I was being a little facetious, because I really I suspect that Americans have defined 'natural-born' simply to mean 'born in the United States'.

I don't know if there are risks associated with killing the rabbit. I do know that it's curtains for little mister lapin au vin there. Anyway, as long as you keep its foot, luck should hold out.

Whatever the rights and wrongs, the convention is that if turning from major to minor, the driver has priority, otherwise it's the pedestrian.

It depends where you're standing. If you're standing in Bordeaux, it's 'Chocolatine'.

How many elderly women were there?

What happened next?

Mar 11, 2019 18:34
Greenland became the manufacturing hub sustaining America's post-war enthusiasm for all modern domestic convenience. However, it was rampant testing of the humble toaster which did most to undermine Greenland's permafrost.

Whatever you do, I guess it wouldn't hurt to talk to a patent attorney first.
