@TheLethalCarrot, yeah, in real life
Jun 16, 2020 12:16
@AncientSwordRage, thanks
Jun 16, 2020 12:16
Also, is there a way to make everyone forget all the stupid stuff I have posted?
Jun 16, 2020 12:14
BTW, is West world a topic for this site?
Jun 16, 2020 12:13
Well that is silly.
Jun 16, 2020 12:12
Why is that posted as a question when it is a statement? But, if it is better then that is pretty cool.
Jun 16, 2020 12:10
Nice! But it looks pretty much the same as it is now. What is the advantage?
Jun 16, 2020 12:09
Whats CommonMark?
Jun 16, 2020 12:08

May 19, 2020 13:18
@AncientSwordRage, Yeah, not your fault

Feb 11, 2020 14:22
Thanks, lets do more discussion tomorrow.
Feb 11, 2020 14:21
@TheLethalCarrot, To be courteous, it is really late here and I have to get up early for work, so I will have to leave this until tomorrow. Really sorry to have to do this as I appreciate the time you are taking to reply to my concerns.
Feb 11, 2020 14:17
@TheLethalCarrot, Gold badges for sure and from what I can see, users privileges above 15K rep is too much.
Feb 11, 2020 14:15
Do I have to go on?
Feb 11, 2020 14:14
@TheLethalCarrot, Removing high end users privileges is not that hard. And that is not vague, ie, No dup hammers, not one person closing of questions, no one person opening of questions, ect.
Feb 11, 2020 14:10
@TheLethalCarrot, If they can allow no rep loss on each meta site ,but allow rep loss on main meta, then they can disable other features on other sites. It is not that hard. And yes like you, I program, so I am am sure I do have some knowledge here.
Feb 11, 2020 14:07
@TheLethalCarrot, That is not true, each site has their own functionality.
Feb 11, 2020 14:05
@TheLethalCarrot, This site is not StackOverFlow, a programming Q & A, which is much easier to distinguish between duplicate and off topic questions and high rep users with programming knowledge will for sure be better at making these decisions. So don't confuse the fact that the "Core" was originally meant for that site. I am talking about making SciFi site better.
Feb 11, 2020 14:00
I don't know, but the site has now decided to reward questions even though the community was not in favor. What does that say? It says that any opinion is able to be heard.
Feb 11, 2020 13:59
So go else where is what you suggest over trying to make this site a better one. I was always in favor of making questions more important as they are the life blood of a site like this and almost EVERYONE including main meta was against this idea every time I brought it up, but it has now been changed to give 10 rep to questions. Was I wrong,
Feb 11, 2020 13:59
@TheLethalCarrot, And I am not proposing the change to the "core" way of the site. I am saying that users like you have too much power when there is virtually no moderation in regards to to this issue. But what concerns me more is that you still think I should be conforming to this sites views "If you don't like that then yes of course it's more up to you to find a site that is more in line with what you want".
Feb 11, 2020 13:45
@TheLethalCarrot, No you have opened up a whole different issue here saying I should align myself with this site " if you disagree with core functionalities of the site then you should be asking questions of yourself not the site". So it is me who has to conform to this site? This is my biggest gripe with users like you and the many who stick together and back each other up. I am a member of the community just like you and I have just as much right to express my opinions.
Feb 11, 2020 13:38
So why should I be asking myself these questions? B/c it is not in line with this site?
Feb 11, 2020 13:37
@TheLethalCarrot, Of late, I have been disagreeing in a manner that is obviously accepted of this site (no bans), but the members, especially the long time users are ready and willing to add their back handed comments. I don't care about them. But Why do I have to conform to the site when I don't agree? This site has a habit of shutting up opposing views to the community through restrictions, especially on the main meta site.
Feb 11, 2020 13:31
@TheLethalCarrot, Is disagreeing wrong?
Feb 11, 2020 13:30
@TheLethalCarrot, Yes , I have history of not conforming to the views of this site. Is that wrong?
Feb 11, 2020 13:29
Then beat down on, by long and high end users.
Feb 11, 2020 13:29
@TheLethalCarrot, Like I said, only those that make a fuss are heard.
Feb 11, 2020 13:28
And the fact that the high end and long users tend to stick together and protect each other.
Feb 11, 2020 13:27
@TheLethalCarrot, What I want is to show that high end users have too much power. Your admission shows this as it happens all too frequently. Only those people who make a fuss on meta (and then get ostracized, case in point, before the comment was deleted "Oh another one of Kylo's rants, why am I not surprised") That is my issue.
Feb 11, 2020 13:21
@TheLethalCarrot, all I can see is you avoiding the issue at hand. You obviously don't want to admit you were wrong and you obviously are not someone who is open to discussion.
Feb 11, 2020 13:19
@TheLethalCarrot, So what do call not doing what stack was designed for?
Feb 11, 2020 13:16
That is not a mistake, but blatant ignorance of how stack is supposed to be and high end users like you can control things like closing questions when it does not align with how stack was supposed be. Hence having too much power.
Feb 11, 2020 13:16
@TheLethalCarrot, The rules are clear, "If the question is different it is not a duplicate", like the answer I linked in the meta post, you can't expect users to sift through answers of possibly unrelated questions to get an answer to your question. That is not how Stack works, and you being a high end user should know that.
Feb 11, 2020 13:07
That is the issue here right now. So no, this is not off topic, but I guess you don't want to talk about all of this.
Feb 11, 2020 13:07
@TheLethalCarrot, The statistics have proven so, more views will ultimately get better replies. Yeah, you keep falling back on "a) that's how the system works" . I am saying the system does not work to what is possibly could, ie, it is not working right now and that ius where I am disagreeing with you. Off topic? My issue is with too much power of high end users and you showed that your biased opinion was wrong even though you have the tools provided by the "system".
Feb 11, 2020 12:59
@TheLethalCarrot, HNQ receive more views and get better replies. And If you say asking a question is for the information, why are you closing them(questions) when they could get new information instead of the old question's dated content?
Feb 11, 2020 12:45
@TheLethalCarrot, no it can't , b/c it loses all momentum. I have never , ever seen a re-opened question go HNQ.
Feb 10, 2020 22:22
@TheLethalCarrot, first would be to take away the too much power of high end users. I understand that people make mistakes, I have made plenty of them myself and when I do I am the first to offer an apology. But once the question has been dup hammered it is lost for ever, no chance of making "Hot Network Questions" and reduced to another plain old question. I am not saying my question was going to be a "HNQ" ,but just like any question it has a chance.
Feb 8, 2020 21:02
@Skooba, like I said before, I refuse to use the tools provided to me to influence a question as I may not be entirely non-biased in that case. I have a weakness to people who ask questions, as that is what drives this site. Without questions, this site would fall on its face and with the question upvote rep being changed, finally the people running this site agrees with that notion.
Feb 8, 2020 20:57
@Randal'ThorAfter reading your responses , I was ill informed and made some comments that don't make sense, such as "Why the sudden move to overstatement? "
Feb 8, 2020 20:55
OK, finally I am seeing the messages. Sorry to @Randal'Thor for me thinking he was ignoring me, apparently I had set ignore to him. Sorry for that.
Feb 8, 2020 10:10
Again look at the question being closed. High end user's helping each other.
Feb 8, 2020 10:08
Nothing
Feb 8, 2020 10:05
@Jenayah, You mean people who have volunteer to "put tremendous efforts in keeping this site clean and of top-notch quality, and on top of that are grounded enough to recognize when they make mistakes or discuss their actions constructively", then yes, I mean those people.
