Then every system which is not a simple game is not a simple game. You know there are some that do, and you know there are some that don't. The list of each is unreasonable to include here, so it's too broad. Any level you look at, this isn't a question that fits on SE.
Nij
Mar 13 00:11
The question is trivial, since all vote systems allow for abstention, shich simple games don't account. If this is plainly ignored, then it isn't about the real world's politics or governments or voting systems, so the question makes no sense. It at least needs clarity

Unless it is in a very specific and esoteric niche, one university does not typically make up an entire field. Biomedical research certainly isn't among them.

As it is, presuming good faith is far harder now, because good faith means applying the correct process without factually-unsupported accusations, even in a vacuum without prior history.
Nij
Jan 23 19:01
Had the question simply been asked here originally, without pre-judging the outcome and instead seeking the facts they do not possess, or raised to CM via the contact form, there would be no problem with it receiving a straightforward response.
Nij
Jan 23 18:59
Yes, he did,, by immediately calling it "moderator abuse".
Nij
Jan 23 18:58
If. But without any evidence of that, jumping immediately to the reaction of a flag calling the situation abuse, then repeating that reaction in 'public' chat, is entirely inappropriate.
Nij
Jan 23 18:51
Fact is, you do not have a right to get clarifications. If someone declines to respond and makes that clear through other means, your comment is no longer needed and is in line for deletion at any point.
Nij
Jan 23 18:50
Exactly. You have literally nothing to show why your flags are declined. You don't know who declined them. You have made an accusation of "moderator abuse" with no possible objective basis, so the only cause must be emotional dissatisfaction.
Nij
Jan 23 07:22
I would heavily advise stepped away from the issue for at least a day, and only returning to it if there is high confidence that improprieties have actually occurred, and not a purely emotional reaction to your flag being rejected.
Nij
Jan 23 07:21
If you have actual evidence of improprieties, it should be provided directly to community managers (CM) via the contact form, not raised as a flag and certainly not in chat. Avoidance and circumvention makes it very much appear that this complaint is not in good faith.
Nij
Jan 23 07:19
In the complete absence of any evidence that a moderator with a conflict of interest took action on the content, such a flag and re-rainsing in chat is making accusations of impropriety that are unsupportable. If you have a specific issue with potentially improper deletion of comments, your flag should specify that exactly, and request checking by another moderator.

Write your own answer that is correct, bounty it for someone else to write their own answer that is correct, upvote the good-but-not-sufficient answer so it stops getting bumped, or accept that this is the system working as intended regardless of any individual's feeling.

If the question has no answers, or has upvotes, there is no need or reason to delete it. If the question has answers and both question and answer have upvotes, it should not be deleted. Why would sending the problem to a magazine require its deletion here?

Jul 22, 2024 07:54
But.. it doesn't even work for Australia. People are literally fleeing genocide in some cases, and fleeing significant certain violence in their homelands in most other cases. There is no disincentive because Australia cannot and has not done worse with greater frequency to illegal immigrants than those people face already. It didn't work for Australia, it certainly isn't going to work with USA's implementations. In particular when it is not "boat people" or whatever else they might be named, but straightforward visa overstayers that make up the vast majority of illegal immigrants.

This appears to be an abuse of the room owner privileges, including removal of other room owners. The user appears to have done the same to a number of other rooms.

(Il)legality is only relevant in following rules of competition, which are a sporting aspect especially for a stated stroke, rather than fitness aspect.
Nij
Mar 12, 2024 00:01
Efficiency is important in the use of energy to achieve the result, either speed for a given distance or distance covered for a given time, which are sporting aspects rather than fitness aspects.

@MartinSleziak given they ask about both efficiency and (il)legality, this seems to be a sports question.

Whether it is or is not on-topic for Bicycles SE, is not something I think we can presume to tell you, either generally or in particular as a mod there. From your comments on the question there, it seems like you're leaning towards off-topic? Feel free to migrate and we'll tidy up, if that's your community consensus or moderator decision.

Hello @Criggie I think that question would be on-topic here. We have similar questions about other sports, not necessarily those that the asker even plays themselves, and are among our most frequently-used tags as well.
Nij
Jan 13, 2023 10:17
@JohnK.N. we have a tag for shooting which is currently a catch-all for a range of sports. I doubt we'd get to a tag specifically for this kind of shooting for a while, but as long as they're clearly about a specific competitive sport as you seem to suggest, they're on topic.

Welcome @JohnK.N. it would depend on what those things are.. acronyms from the USA tend to be very opaque and unknown pretty much everywhere else.

I don't have students perform calculations on paper or in their heads because they might not have a calculator, I do it so they can understand what the calculator will eventually do for them, and be capable of checking it is done accurately. Wolfram-Alpha can solve almost any calculation problem through and beyond high school, but just showing my students how to use that would be a total waste of time as well as cripple any capability they might otherwise have developed. Not everything is learnt purely to know it, nor even purely to understand it, and this answer doesn't seem to do either.

The question is as explicit as possible without saying exactly the words "tipping money to the restaurant or its staff while paying for a meal at that restaurant as an additional payment to acknowledge good service". Playing stupid word games isn't helpful, isn't responsive, and still doesn't actually answer the question.
Nij
Mar 27, 2024 18:51
This is not an answer to the question asked here; it belongas a separatepost on Law SE. The legality is only relevant to the extent someone wants all tips to go to the staff and not strictly the business, but says nothing about whether an individual should still be tipping anyway.

Visa denial and ban is an entirely different matter @terdon. They made the decision to totally disallow any access no matter what to this person for a decade. That is more than "on a list and caused .. trouble".

"If they are irrational the market will take care of them" is possibly the most ironic thing I've read in some time. The market itself is not rational, since it is built and run by people, who are inherently not rational actors, as history has repeatedly proven. The idea of rational actors making the best decisions for the optimal profit is a myth long dead, yet still too many can't resist pushing it.

"No, it doesn't." - whether you like or not, professional codes of conduct mean exactly that every practising individual is responsible for the public perception of that practise and profession. Flat rejections don't change the reality, sorry. @Acccumulation

To be explicit: the user who added that content to the Wikipedia article has a history of making unsubstantiated changes, plagiarism, and using that user's material as its own source.
Nij
Dec 28, 2022 23:27
When the source is crap, it'll be called such. As for "being in Wikipedia" well, that's not meaning much, I've already pointed out the enormous issue with the sentence's presence there. If you want to look at the edit history, you can see who put it there, and how little credibility the edit has.
Nij
Dec 28, 2022 23:27
Do you object to the source being labelled crap? Or to the edit on Wikipedia? The language is accurate and acceptable here.
Nij
Dec 28, 2022 23:27
"Notice Wikipedia formerly claimed he had 200+ goals and now it claims it has 850 goals" - no, it doesn't. The information panel lists all senior teams and years played, with the caps and goals beside them. What you have is one crap website being used to supporting a crap edit in Wikipedia; the text claiming the 850 goals is a single sentence with no connection to the paragraph around it, it has no alignment with any other information in the article or in any other independent source.
