@motosubatsu You still have brakes, but you loose the vacuum assist after 2-3 presses of the pedal. Less if you have a failing brake booster. Not something I would ever attempt. Too much risk of something going wrong. Better to just leave it in gear and give it the small amount of throttle possible to maintain speed. Keeping it in gear adds engine braking (very important on a long slope).

@alephzero This is true in the US also. The only exception I am aware of is if the driver in front does a brake check in an attempt to cause an accident.

Agree. USA here. I understand it can be nerve racking to have someone following very closely, but the appropriate action is to maintain your speed / driving style. Do not feel pressured. You are not in the wrong or being rude. They are.

even without a wideband, you can determine the approximate a/f from the oxygen sensor voltage. It isn't as accurate, but it will give you an idea of where your at. Another thought - fuel pressure under boost?

having a hard time thinking of any single key that should control an action on a webpage, aside from enter for submit
May 20, 2016 19:18
I've had that happen, seems like a bad key to use for an action
May 20, 2016 19:11

Had an 89 blazer with giant holes in the floor. Started welding in whatever metal I could find. I was scrapping a bunch of computers for work, so I took the cases, cut them up and welded them in.
