@ND523 You could do like some Visual Novels on steam do. Release a "safe" version and have a patch for the "complete" version available on your own website.

Realistically speaking, to arrive at such a situation you'd need a lot of time and resources to convince the whole world. Assuming you succeed, by the time everyone agrees they'd have prepared for it so society at least shouldn't see too much of a change.

IANAL. Being in the US, you could consider acquiring a firearm permit and some handgun. It could be a good deterent as well as a potential tool for self-defense if it comes to it.

@Elliot Murt. Don't count too much on that. There is a lot of public data that could give your new position, not counting the possibility that they simple get someone to follow you.

Whatever you end up doing, I think you should at least have standard copyright/author headers on all your code files to protect yourself. If he removes them, it only incriminates him.
