Just updated RD and saw the splash-screen, shocked and saddened. Didn't know ThunderFrame beyond the chat room but I know he was, like many here, incredibly generous and talented; and will be missed.

Hey Rubberduckers - just wanted to say congrats on the imminent release of 2.3.0 :-D
Jun 15, 2018 06:49
Holy cow - you guys have been busy!! Liking the new auto complete :-)
Apr 25, 2018 11:41
ah... well that, at least, looks like a good head start
Apr 25, 2018 11:38
would be cool to find a way to intercept the intellisense, I'm sure that's not trivial :-/
Apr 25, 2018 11:37
... although appreciate that the VBA IDE is an old product with minimal upkeep as well (yay for Rubberduck)
Apr 25, 2018 11:35
@this same, although I'm working with XML at the moment and XSD and just wouldn't have thought they'd not find some way of validating the intellisense prediction
Apr 25, 2018 11:32
I was just surprised that I was getting options for returning something from a Sub. If that happens... well I wonder what crazy stuff I've let intellisense add to my code over the years...
Apr 25, 2018 11:30
Make that 2 things...
Apr 25, 2018 11:28
TIL something about VBA Intellisense
Apr 25, 2018 11:27
Apr 9, 2018 00:34
a , well many, probably
Apr 9, 2018 00:33
There is also a VBA Users group on Linked In, I'm not in it so not sure how active it is... but reckon that'd be a place to post
Apr 9, 2018 00:32
Greg has a great website for MS Word... The Anchorage :-)
Apr 9, 2018 00:31
Cindy is a machine... I could mention to Greg also Joanne
Apr 9, 2018 00:30
(both MS Word... but ... )
Apr 9, 2018 00:30
Reach out to Greg Maxey and Joanne Orzech?
Apr 9, 2018 00:17
@MathieuGuindon BTW congrats on MPV - that's epic too
Apr 9, 2018 00:14
Just popping in to offer my congratulations on the latest release :-) Awesome, installing now :-D
Mar 14, 2018 12:11
I couldn't say about the kernel, but I've had to change some longs to longlongs in the past to get things working...
Mar 14, 2018 12:07
@FreeMan Um... were you writing in 64 Bit App or only 64 Bit OS with 32 bit App (default for Office 2007 I think)?
Mar 14, 2018 11:54
@Mat'sMug fixed :)
Mar 14, 2018 11:52
Certainly not my intention...

A: Could not start visual basic

SlowLearnerThis just happened to me (literally seconds ago) and I came HERE first stop. I was looking for THE answer. As it happened, MS-Office 2010 offered to repair the problem... ... and, skeptically, I accepted. To my astonishment I was soon greeted by my FAVOURITE splash screen in the world: BI...

Mar 14, 2018 10:10
Anyway, I posted my answer to a related question as succinctly as I was able to manage
Mar 14, 2018 09:47
BTW: An automatic repair got it working again -
Mar 14, 2018 09:43
I'm sure this has NOTHING to do with Rubberduck, but my MS Word IDE just died - VBE6Ext.olb could not be loaded. Anyone else had this happen?
Mar 13, 2018 04:02
@IvenBach me too - and by the way, yep found the truth table stuff. Thanks :)
Mar 13, 2018 04:01
So, just had a strange thing - RD parser (seemed to) stopped responding and word was completely locked. I noticed a feint flicker in the VBA IDE close button... I've seen that happen with the main Word window before but have not noticed with the IDE window. Anyway, I did the usual fix (WinKey+D x2) Parser finished instantly and all good. Just thought I'd share...
Mar 6, 2018 10:38
@Hosch250 um, not that I recall... but I imagine that if that happens programmers wouldn't be the only kind of people being "replaced"...
Mar 5, 2018 02:56
yup, sad as they are - should be a celebration of the person. I guess it comes down to the circumstances leading to the lease being revoked...
Mar 5, 2018 02:43
Right now looking at Serializing my objects...
Mar 5, 2018 02:43
Thanks for the date, will go searching.
Mar 5, 2018 02:43
Funerals IMHO are better when you can remember the person as they were at their peak, well perhaps not right at the peak (a fair bit after, actually) but not so long after that they are remembered as.... well someone different, checked out.
Mar 5, 2018 02:39
oh wait... that's actually what you meant? My bad, I thought that was the start of a plain English example of inversion...
Mar 5, 2018 02:38
sorry
Mar 5, 2018 02:38
@IvenBach so they died?
Mar 4, 2018 20:00
@IvenBach do you happen to have a link to a transcript (or can give an example)?
Mar 4, 2018 03:25
Just realised something as intangible as an opportunity (that might not even have been noticed) is an object - OMG you guys have changed me!
Mar 4, 2018 03:24
I see objects...
Mar 3, 2018 05:04
@IvenBach kewl... I was looking at truth tables a few days ago. I have a function that takes 5 boolean parameters and spits out a decision - I used a truth table (of sorts) to create a select case statement that outputs what I need. Ultimately it works, but now you've got me wondering if there is a better way...
Mar 1, 2018 23:39
I'll be bookmarking this, need to do some work
Mar 1, 2018 23:34
lol I have no clue what the f is
Mar 1, 2018 22:58
@Vogel612 you're trying to break me? Ok, I'm going to look into that :)
Mar 1, 2018 22:53
lol go easy mate, do you know how long it took me to wrap my head around what an object is?

#heygooglewhatsfunctionalprogramming
Mar 1, 2018 22:44
Yup
Mar 1, 2018 22:41
@IvenBach Tnx mate - unit tests don't really have the same impact until the code is OOP'd but NOW I'm starting to realise that a huge part of programming is object design and how different classes interact with each other which paves the way for being able to pass 'stuff' around... feels like joined a new league...
Mar 1, 2018 22:26
WOW. Just WOW. I'm just starting a new project and using unit tests for development - just wanted to share :)

@ThunderFrame Hmmm the problem with the unit tests appears to have happened again - this time (and perhaps last time too) it happened after a test was interrupted. I had a type mismatch and tried to correct it while the test was running. This caused the project to reset but the unit test was not ready to finish and kept spinning its wheels. Now I appear to be in the same situation as before...
Mar 1, 2018 08:29
@ThunderFrame no, that happened after the fact while I was trying to re-import to solve the issue
