I agree with Jukka. This question was worth it just for that.

For lack of a better place to mention this... In the list of accepted papers to SODA 2012 (siam.org/meetings/da12/da12accepted.pdf) I couldn't help but notice the title "Jaywalking your Dog -- The Frechet Distance with Shortcuts for Realistic Curves with Noise," co-authored by TCS SE contributor Sariel Har-Peled. Massive kudos for the name!

@Joe: Thanks! I didn't realize that the Many Worlds Interpretation was so widely accepted.

I wasn't convinced by the angle that the author took, but it was fun to read about TCS in such a high-quality popular news source. I'd be very interested to hear what the quantum experts here think about Deutsch's interpretation of quantum phenomena.

Has anyone read the New Yorker article on quantum computation: newyorker.com/reporting/2011/05/02/110502fa_fact_galchen ? It addresses the subject from a physics/philosophy perspective more than a CS perspective, but Shor's algorithm feature prominently as motivation for why quantum computers are interesting.
