A place to talk with friends from the EE community about vacuu...
Oct 2, 2013 19:01
@Kortuk hm, interesting. i'll have to look into that.
Oct 2, 2013 18:50
so what did you mean "they are not great radiators from memory of antenna analysis?"
Oct 2, 2013 18:47
@Kortuk so here's a question... let's say i have an antenna which is perfectly matched. whatever output power the transceiver has there won't be any reflections because of the perfect imepdance match.... so where else does the energy go if it's not being radiated? does the antenna just dissipate it in heat or something?
Oct 2, 2013 18:20
I have a pretty narrow frequency spectrum, about 868Mhz - 930 MHz
Oct 2, 2013 18:20
@Kortuk Interesting, are they ok for getting good range as well?
Oct 2, 2013 15:39
no? nobodys used a surface mount helical antenna?
Oct 1, 2013 23:31
anybody have any experience with helical smd antennas?
Sep 17, 2013 20:59
that's pretty sad
Sep 17, 2013 20:58
just found out about david kessner news
Sep 17, 2013 20:58
Hey guys, haven't been here in a while
Jul 10, 2013 17:04
@W5VO haha yeah, i did that like 3 years ago, went from hybrid to road bike... shattered my collar bone shortly thereafter =/
Jul 10, 2013 17:03
i know nothing about PICs fyi
Jul 10, 2013 17:03
@Littlegator fantastic
Jun 29, 2013 13:52
(one being a resistor that is)
Jun 29, 2013 13:52
@AnindoGhosh Don't you want one going from the base to the ground then to speed up the discharge on the base?
Jun 23, 2013 16:08
I will flag a moderator on SO and see if they want to move it.
Jun 23, 2013 16:08
Ugh it almost definitely belongs on EE.SE then...
Jun 23, 2013 16:05
@coding_corgi oh you were the other upvote?
Jun 23, 2013 16:04
only 37 views and 2 upvotes.... one of which was from @CamilStaps

Q: FreeRTOS queues and IPC confusion

NickHaldenI'm struggling with my first real freeRTOS project. I am basically using an ATmega328P microcontroller and an nRF24L01+ radio as a "node". I have two of these nodes and I am using them to talk to each other. I have successfully ported freeRTOS to my microcontroller so that I can use tasks to blin...

@Kortuk / Everyone: do you think this question belongs on SO or EE.SE? It doesn't seem to be getting much attention on SO...
Jun 22, 2013 16:24
I suspect my question might get more attention on EE.SE than on SO.SE so perhaps I'll move it if it hasn't garnered more attention by tomorrow
Jun 22, 2013 16:23
@CamilStaps ah, thank you muchly
Jun 22, 2013 16:23
@CamilStaps haha i dunno, but i upvoted yours.. do the same for me?
Jun 22, 2013 16:22
@CamilStaps done
Jun 22, 2013 16:20
@CamilStaps try it!
Jun 22, 2013 16:19
(i think)
Jun 22, 2013 16:19
no but it will show up on the starred list to the right here
Jun 22, 2013 16:19
Thanksssssss
Jun 22, 2013 16:19
Can somebody star that question so people see it later in the day? I feel like it's a borderline EE.SE / SO.SE question....

Jun 12, 2013 20:36
specifically the dynamic payload length feature?
Jun 12, 2013 20:36
anyone here have experience with the nRF24L01+ ?
Jun 7, 2013 15:52
@coding_corgi nah
Jun 7, 2013 15:47
@coding_corgi yeah i dunno what's up with that... it used to be blue and less populated
Jun 7, 2013 15:43
just in case anyone was curious
Jun 7, 2013 15:43
guys, it turns out 802.15.4 is fairly complicated
Jun 6, 2013 23:47
@ThePhoton ah-ha! gosh... the SE sites are getting like python modules, there's one for everything!

Jun 6, 2013 23:40
Alright, who knows stuff about networks?
Jun 4, 2013 16:29
@DavidKessner Python is amazing. Do not bash python.
May 30, 2013 21:35
Nah I'm just kidding, I have no idea... never use PICs.
May 30, 2013 21:34
@Littlegator Nope.
May 30, 2013 21:24
=/
May 30, 2013 21:24
@Kortuk Samesies
May 30, 2013 21:21
how's life though?
May 30, 2013 21:21
@Kortuk No worries, I've been much busier as well as of late, only coming on for a few minutes every few days probably
May 30, 2013 21:17
@Kortuk Hey bud! It's been a while since I saw you here!
May 30, 2013 21:03
i haven't used it in several weeks, been working on a firmware only project lately
May 30, 2013 21:03
if im remember correctly
May 30, 2013 21:03
@ThePhoton yes it's larger than that, frequently the noise floor is around -80dBm to - 100dBm while our actual signals are around -10 - 10 dBm
