Yes, it's the unsigned drivers thing.

That might save me a bunch of trouble.

But I'm going to try the other thing first.

I was actually about to download Ubuntu to pull my rescue disk from my secondary HD.

err, rescue disk to decrypt the drive.

From more reading, I guess I need my TrueCrypt install image.

I didn't think I was using unsigned drivers anymore.

Yeah, like I said, it doesn't work even in safe mode.

My current attempt is to boot a Windows recovery USB and repair my install, but it doesn't see the drive.

Anyways, turned that off the other night, and now I can't use my computer.

Can't remember exactly why I turned that on, but I had a reason at some point.

What I think happened was that I took Windows out of "test mode".

And yes, it was working the other day.

USB. No PS/2 ports on this box.

Lights are on, but nobody's home.

I can unlock the disk and navigate the BIOS just fine, but after Windows starts (even in safe mode) I get no response from either keyboard or mouse.

The root issue is that I can't use a keyboard and mouse after Windows boots.

I have the password, but I can't boot my Windows install disk and unlock the disk at the same time.

Anyone know how to repair a TrueCrypt locked Windows install?

I'll flash that BIOS update at work tomorrow and try that tomorrow night.

At the behest of my brother in law, I've tried booting without a keyboard and with all of the front panel things unplugged, but the same result.

I took the computer to PAX in Seattle this fall, and that was where it was acting up the most. The other 400+ computers were fine.

I'm on the phone with my brother in law who I've also been keeping in the loop about this whole thing, and he pointed out that it can't be a bad power issue.

Noticed a few semi-regular patterns that I couldn't identify (didn't look like normal pins), but I think it's fine.

I didn't see any bent pins.

...and it froze. :(

Ok, reseating done, rebooting.

Do I need to reapply paste if I'm reseating it so soon?

Nope, still freezes with one stick in.

I'm going to take them back out and see if it boots.

They weren't there yesterday.

Come to think of it, I stuck the 3 other sticks back in when I replaced the CPU.

8 GB is a bit more bearable, and should produce the same results.

10 passes x 32 GB is a really long time.

Ok, I'll take all but one of the ram sticks back out and re-run memtest overnight.

Ah, ok. Thought it was a MB function.

I haven't run memtest86 all the way through since I replaced the MB, though.

I doubt it, because replacing the MB would've fixed that, right?

Either they're all bad, or it's not the culprit.

Either way, I've run the system with only one stick in, and I've swapped each one in at a time. Still happened.
