apple getting nasty with everyone here.
Sep 21, 2019 02:30
@Monomeeth yea, i knew tha tthe extension build stuff was getting removed. there was a hackernews post about it yesterday. check this out: github.com/el1t/uBlock-Safari/issues/158

Sep 21, 2019 00:41
think I should answer it with a "don't install Safari 13.0 because it's broken" answer?
Sep 21, 2019 00:38
i vastly prefer Calendar.app on macOS/iOS to the Google native apps, but this has my iMac busted. :(
Sep 21, 2019 00:38
this is a pretty serious break IMHO.
Sep 21, 2019 00:23
yup. Safari 13.0 update has hosed Google account authentication. great.
Sep 20, 2019 23:53
actually, wait. something did get updated today: safari. shit.
Sep 20, 2019 23:50
turned it into a question: apple.stackexchange.com/questions/370545/… -- maybe others are having issues?
Sep 20, 2019 23:42
i've got that happening. it's maddening.
Sep 20, 2019 23:28
Anyone else stuck in a loop on macOS being asked for your Google account password, having Sys Prefs tell you it needs you to enter the password in Safari and then it opens Safari and...nothing? Doesn't load a Google Auth page or anything? This is kind of maddening.
Sep 13, 2018 00:26
and they didn't announce a keyboard with a touch sensor. that's something i really want for my iMac. don't care about the bar, but that touch sensor is awesome.
Sep 13, 2018 00:25
sigh. so underwhelmed by the phones. i'll probably get a new watch though. my series 2 has felt sluggish from the get-go.
Sep 12, 2018 17:54
can't wait to try iOS 12.
Sep 12, 2018 17:52
@JoeTaxpayer are they? huh. crazy. a 7 nm chip in a laptop/desktop would be something else. bet yields are shitty on this process.
Sep 12, 2018 17:48
for context: 7 nm is ~1/3 the width of the wave of light they use for the lithography. in-sane.
Sep 12, 2018 17:47
whoa.
Sep 12, 2018 17:47
> 7 nm Chip
Sep 12, 2018 17:43
i admire Apple's commitment to their shitty nomenclature on iPhones here. these names are terrrrrible.\
Sep 12, 2018 17:43
EXCESS MAX! EVEN MORE EXTREEEEEMMMEEE!
Sep 12, 2018 17:41
i've heard my 8 is water resistance but i'm still not gonna dunk it i the water. you folks submerged your iphones?
Sep 12, 2018 17:40
IT'S EXTREEEEMMMEEEE!
Sep 12, 2018 17:40

Sep 12, 2018 17:40

Sep 12, 2018 17:37

Sep 12, 2018 17:37
> ago Old bands will work with the new Apple Watch.
Sep 12, 2018 17:28
yea, i really want that ECG feature.
Sep 12, 2018 17:15
that looks good. glad i skipped the LTE S3. i'll swap my S2 for that i suspect.
Sep 12, 2018 17:15
Sep 12, 2018 17:12
cool! i should go check that out...
Sep 12, 2018 17:11
ahhhh.
Sep 12, 2018 17:08

Sep 12, 2018 17:08
@Monomeeth what was it about?
Sep 12, 2018 17:01

Sep 12, 2018 17:00

this edit made me chuckle. good to remember that people with all skill levels use the site.
Nov 9, 2017 20:28
@bmike thank you!
Nov 9, 2017 00:52
@bmike nice. that's a little small for TM on my box. i picked up the WD spinny disk equivalent instead.
Nov 8, 2017 04:30
what's the current recommendation for USBC drives to use for Time Machine on new iMacs? anyone got a favorite they want to recommend?
Sep 28, 2017 04:13
definitely done with computers for the day.
Sep 28, 2017 04:12
ugh. WD USB3 drive is fubar. on the wife's windows machine it's reporting SMART errors. can't format it with the WD Utilities program there. joy. that is the sound of money being flushed.
Sep 28, 2017 03:50
i think i'm going to quit computers :/
Sep 28, 2017 03:49
currently trying to format it with the WD Drive Utilities tool, which could see it, but it's taking a loooooooooooooooong time. which is weird for a brand new, essentially empty drive.
Sep 28, 2017 03:49
i can see it on the USB bus but not in diskutil. this is...maddening.
Sep 28, 2017 03:49
@bmike out of the frying pan, into the fire. the iMac won't recognize the 6TB WD My Book USB3 drive I bought. :(
Sep 28, 2017 00:29
yea, i always viewed the TM drive as slightly ancillary. if i lost it it's not the end of the world because i can rebuild it. probability of losing both the TM drive and the internal drive at the same time seems low enough that i was willing to gamble on it. :D
