diff bushings are more or less the same as suspension bushings
Feb 2, 2017 19:33
@Zshoulders A quick googling seems to suggest a lot of people using bread to remove the pilot bushing, which is an awesome idea that I wish I had known when I did my clutch last year, but these bushings are a whole different beast.
Feb 2, 2017 19:31
bread to remove bushings? You have my attention.
Feb 2, 2017 19:31
Hahahahaha that's a great point, ya got me there, I had planned on two of the three bushings being a b**** from the start.
Feb 2, 2017 19:26
@Zaid Don't get used to it pal! I finally hammered the last bushing out of my replacement diff this morning, so my hammer is feeling mighty and all powerful. I'm going to stop talking about my hammer now.
Dec 16, 2016 21:40
but yeah, bragging over, it was and continues to be an incredible experience, and i'm very very lucky
Dec 16, 2016 21:39
hahaha exactly
Dec 16, 2016 21:39
so i had to park it and wait 90 minutes for the truck to come to me, all the while people would pass and ask what's wrong and why i kept stalling it as they left the show hahaha
Dec 16, 2016 21:38
turns out the car doesn't have a cooling fan, since it's only ever mean to be on track
Dec 16, 2016 21:38
and thats when I looked at the temp gauge, which was just starting to approach the red
Dec 16, 2016 21:37
so I pulled on to riviera and there was like 1/4 mile of solid traffic
Dec 16, 2016 21:37
worst part was the 'parade' put us out on regular city streets, and i had to meet our transport truck
Dec 16, 2016 21:35
not at all, it was like 700hp fully built turbo.. m52 motor i think? some kind of straight 6
Dec 16, 2016 21:34
and here's my favorite one at 1:08:50
Dec 16, 2016 21:30
at 56:35 I'm in the z4, luckily you don't see me stall in this one, but i have to restart the engine and rev the shit out of it to keep going hahaha
Dec 16, 2016 21:20
Sorry, I haven't had a chance to brag to any other car people except the guys I work with now, who, as soon as I start, bring up that I stalled a race car a dozen times in front of hundreds of people. Every other week they show me another youtube video posted by a random person featuring my embarrassment.
Dec 16, 2016 21:18
i agree, ive heard nothing but good things. I was a little bummed the line around the c7 was too long I didn't get a chance to check it out in detail
Dec 16, 2016 21:18
Also, to continue bragging, i got to drive an RWB equipped porsche 993 like 60 miles through the desert chasing a couple other track cars. Needless to say we were speeding.
Dec 16, 2016 21:11
oh yeah nice. I went to the seattle show right after sema actually. pretty cool to sit in all the new cars and see what you're missing out on haha. I hate the chevy commercials that show 'real people' gushing over the new cars, but I was seriously impressed by how far the interiors have come
Dec 16, 2016 21:08
like international auto show? those are a lot of fun too. get a few friends and some inebriates beforehand haha
Dec 16, 2016 21:07
LOTS of lifted trucks which is meh, but the car builds were incredible
Dec 16, 2016 21:06
Oh for sure, I didn't get to see much of the show because it's so incredibly large and i was working the booth, but it was very very cool,
Dec 16, 2016 21:05
haha
Dec 16, 2016 21:05
which was terrifying, stalled it several times and got laughed at by hundreds of people
Dec 16, 2016 21:05
got to drive a bmw z4 race car through the 'sema rollout' parade
Dec 16, 2016 21:05
yeah it's been crazy. I spent two weeks training then worked our booth at sema at the beginning of november
Dec 16, 2016 21:04
my mistake!
Dec 16, 2016 21:03
Dec 16, 2016 21:03
Sparta Evolution
Dec 16, 2016 21:03
we have a Camaro kit, but only the new one
Dec 16, 2016 21:02
I could probably hook that up haha
Dec 16, 2016 21:02
more or less a dream job but without the money
Dec 16, 2016 21:01
By the way, I've been meaning to brag on here for a while! I got a new job at a company that makes big brake kits here just outside seattle
Dec 16, 2016 20:45
oo yeah those too, I loved the Bugatti vs James May's Cessna one down to.. another place. Nice maybe?
Dec 16, 2016 20:39
it*
Dec 16, 2016 20:39
But I'll keep watching either way haha. I know the 4th episode goes back to the 'buy some old cars and do a road trip' format which has always been my favorite, I hopefully will get them back to their old ways.
Dec 16, 2016 20:37
I agree, in time hopefully they and we get a little more comfortable in the format. I think it feels a lot less organic than the old show, I never feel like they're having conversations anymore. The new track is pretty cool for comparing times, but it seems like it doesn't allow the camera crew to display the cars as well as the old track.
Dec 16, 2016 20:32
Me too, I think I'm two episodes behind once today's is out. What have you thought so far?
Dec 16, 2016 20:30
I actually found something at a hardware store that was significantly cheaper than amazon prime, both myself and the clerk were amazed. it was a $5 set of magnetic floor vent covers that I cut up for autocross numbers, would have cost $12 on AP. Little victories.
Dec 16, 2016 20:28
Thank god for the overlord that is Amazon
Dec 16, 2016 20:22
Things are great! How about yourself?
Nov 18, 2016 18:50
Is the LR3 the one with two chassis?
Nov 11, 2016 18:03
You should refer them to Zaid's "How do I keep cats off my car" post? Also, this is continued proof that cats run the internet.

Sep 20, 2016 20:51
have a good one!
Sep 20, 2016 20:46
nice, that was going to be one of my questions, did you go wider? how's it drive?
Sep 20, 2016 20:44
and great car to learn on (aga)n, i assume
Sep 20, 2016 20:44
nice, great place to learn, have you been doing much to it?
Sep 20, 2016 20:41
nah man I'm a big fan, I imagine you are as well haha
