It's alright :) I help out where I can, but only have rep privileges on SU
Dec 28, 2024 20:09
@gparyani Ya, um... I'm not a mod on SU :P I just hang out in the chat room

Aug 21, 2024 17:57
You'd have to ask the mods on Server Fault. Did you delete it yourself, or did someone else delete it?
Aug 21, 2024 17:56
If it's deleted, it can't be moved out
Aug 21, 2024 17:55
Could you link to it so we can see if it'd fit into Super User's scope?
Aug 21, 2024 17:54
@kyrlon If it's on-topic and a quality question, sure. Why was it closed?
Aug 20, 2024 18:14
@MartinSleziak I hang out here too :)

 Root Access

For all you Super Users out there. You have backups, right?
Tue 17:42
@barlop Cause of a feature of FAT - they deleted the first character of a filename, and that marked it as deleted. Undelete would just look for files with a missing first letter (and that's why you have to tell it what the first letter is to undelete it)

I thought the forbidden pleasure was to melt all the solder into a muffin tin :P

One that you can control both internal and external interfaces with. A Linux or BSD-based router would likely be what you want if you're tracing traffic. For viewing traffic, you gotta be a bit more specific what you're trying to read, as some things are impossible without more info
Jan 14 23:12
That's better
Jan 14 22:58
@JourneymanGeek Gonna post my instructions on my blog. Let me know if it works for you or if I skipped a step
Jan 10 23:41
Alright, I'll work on it next week (work week is done in a few minutes)
Jan 10 20:59
@JourneymanGeek Just re-read this - do you want me to write up what I did to get it working?
Jan 10 19:30
@JourneymanGeek I got it working in a hacky way, but can't run an rsync command from Linux to Windows if the path has spaces in it :/
Jan 10 00:04
Note to self: Windows REALLY needs to get rsync integrated with their version of openSSH
Dec 25, 2024 18:42
Crap. Mine is an ex-rack mount with dual power supplies. One of them beeps constantly when it's connected, so I only run it on one
Dec 24, 2024 17:16
I'm running into the same kind of issue. Thinking it may just be time to scrap it :(
Nov 30, 2024 00:07
I like that I have time to experiment and come up with enterprise solutions without spending a cent since they'd rather spend on people than tools
Nov 30, 2024 00:06
Do it in your "spare" time :P jk
Nov 30, 2024 00:06
Not the case anymore :( Especially without the ability to use cloud-managed tools....
Nov 30, 2024 00:05
Nope. Ad-free blog I maintain
Nov 30, 2024 00:04
@Criggie Feed from my blog. Just haven't had a reason to post for quite a while.
Nov 15, 2024 23:28
Well, they aren't all that wrong...
Nov 9, 2024 23:31
@bertieb Of course! I gotta start shit-posting :P jk
Nov 9, 2024 19:27
Dag nabbit... I need one more rep point on SU to make it a superior number
Nov 7, 2024 18:32
@JourneymanGeek On their paid plans, or just the DNS proxy service?

I think a majority of the people here would have their own server setup, not necessarily host it elsewhere. I do use Digital Ocean though for a few smaller projects
Sep 8, 2024 16:12
Or just a general web hosting service?
Sep 8, 2024 16:11
In what kind of case? Like hosting a version of SE?
Aug 14, 2024 18:55
Relies on the Windows Store. If it's listed in there, it'll find it
Aug 14, 2024 18:32
For a while. I can't get it to work with lists of software though, despite following Microsoft's documentation

Hey all... A long-ass time ago, I'm pretty sure someone posted a GREAT comic that described all the HTTP status codes.... Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Isn't the answer to everything "A"?
