@amon Denying the holocaust isn't an opinion. It's a fact-denying antisemitic statement.

The whole question is a pretty arrogant read already. Probably too subtile for self-observation, though.

@Justas "But for some conservative companies/people, singing about drugs, sex, etc may be inappropriate." How would the customer know about this if not even the boss would without straight telling him? I deal with customers face to face almost every day and I'd argue my hobbies are "far worse" from a conservative perspective. Why would a customer care or even know about my hobbies, though?
Jul 29, 2020 11:17
@Justas Your point makes zero sense. Again, why would his hobby matter? Surely it's completely unrelated to his clothing, as apparently his boss was only aware of it after telling and not by looking. Why do you assume because someone likes metal or punk music they can't or won't wear a suit for example? It makes no sense. Please elaborate.
Jul 28, 2020 12:00
@Justas Why would that even matter?

If anything, bringing up a discussion about someone's word usage is embarrassingly unnecessary.

@bobsburner Sorry to disappoint you, but Java != Java, or rather JVM != JVM. By your logic my Credit Card or old Nokia 3330 should be able to run Minecraft JE because they can run Java. There are a lot of small and minimalistic JVMs out there, tailored for only specific jobs. Java ist just the language, not the entire ecosystem, like classes or JVM features. Your BD-J standard even mentions that it's a "Java variant".
Jun 3, 2020 17:13
@slebetman Yes, people would complain if Java edition was abandoned because that's basically what Minecraft is. If it wasn't for consoles and mobile they would have ditched Bedrock long ago. Java is what's most actively developed.

Most living beings are only capable of counting up to 5. Apparently it's related to having a concept of numbers and ordinality in your mind. That's also the reason why young kids without a fundamental understanding of numbers have problems counting items.

Ok, reading all the comments and OP's statements, this is just another post to rant about Microsoft. Distrusting Microsoft is not related to the question at all, has nothing to do with GPL or anything else mentioned in this question. OP dislikes Microsoft and just wants everyone to know. Case closed.
Aug 7, 2019 15:43
Well, that sounds totally fine within GPL. What's your expected copyright violation here? And how is this related to you not trusting Microsoft? Is that even relevant for the question?

 Root Access

For all you Super Users out there. You have backups, right?

also i actually used "<myname>@office" to register myself on that system back in the days. guess what: i actually received an email in my mbox. mind blown. it's just serving ~250.000 users here and a standard for a lot of big tech corporates, though. so i guess that still qualifies it as a "specific testing situation". sometimes i wish i would live in the real world like you.
Jul 19, 2019 08:39
even better (but just an optional behavior on some addresses of this "kind") these can get forwarded to - as you would probably call it - "real" email addresses, e.g. when it's a customer alias.
Jul 19, 2019 08:38
@rahuldottech well, consider this: i just used a webmailer (on my phone, in my browser, from a public URL) to send an email to claire@datacenter that gets delivered to the user in question. nice effect: it doesn't even have to leave the private infrastructure.

@Bob pfff, a serial port directly hooked onto the PCI bus? what could possibly go wrong?
Jul 19, 2019 07:15
also note you stated "most flexible modern port" which is simply false for HDMI. i think you meant to say "(still) most commonly used port" instead.
Jul 19, 2019 07:13
please note that using an adapter holds true for other standards as well
Jul 19, 2019 07:13
@JourneymanGeek yes, with cherry picking you can make anything look stupid/not supported. i can't plug in my VGA only CRT over HDMI either.
Jul 19, 2019 07:10
@JourneymanGeek let me introduce you to thunderbolt over USB-C ...
Jul 19, 2019 07:08
@rahuldottech someone@domain (without a "." after the "@") is a valid email-address, though. or rather: a TLD is not mandatory

@HungryMind What would have been wrong with "My current salary is Z, but I think I am worth Y because of [insert reasons]. Please give me Z because of [insert reasons]."? You seem to have a pretty bad attitude in the first place, for example: justifying your lying by saying "many people" do it. (Which by the way is most likely not true. And even if: that's no excuse ...) If you are so confident with your skills, why cover it with lies? Play with open cards instead.

@SantiBailors You'd be surprised by the amount of people that are for example looking like females (and potentially are females in a biological way, too) but don't identify as such.

Did that candidate just assume everyones gender??? :^)
