I don't want it really hard set like a jam or jelly, so I don't think I need the 4 cups of sugar that it called for
Nov 21, 2012 18:46
and it looks markedly better, even while still piping hot
Nov 21, 2012 18:46
well I just did that to 1 cup of my jelly
Nov 21, 2012 18:38
good luck with that :P
Nov 21, 2012 18:38

bring 1 cup of trial jelly to a boil, add 3 Tbsp. sugar, 1.5 tsp lemon juice, and 1.5 tsp pectin, return to boil, let stand 24 hours to set :-\
Nov 21, 2012 18:30

Nov 21, 2012 18:27

Nov 21, 2012 18:24
it tastes great as it is
Nov 21, 2012 18:23
I wonder if it can be saved by reheating and adding more stuff :-\
Nov 21, 2012 18:21

Nov 21, 2012 18:16

Nov 21, 2012 18:14
I simmered it longer than the recipe stated, but it didn't seem to be getting much thicker, if any

Q: How can I thicken this cranberry-pepper jelly?

hobodaveIn my first attempt at making jelly, I seem to have veered off course. I'm following this recipe for Cranberry-Pepper Jelly: Ingredients 3 red bell peppers, finely chopped 2 Fresno or red jalapeƱo chiles, seeded and finely chopped 1 cup sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper ...

Nov 21, 2012 18:11

I'm writing in PHP a portion of this application that will generate syntactically correct Ruby based on user input
