So far Gucci seem to be the most promising:

Hey guys, I'm having some difficulty trying to find some photography examples for a thesis topic I'm working on.

Have any of you come across any specific fashion/lifestyle brands that use a film aesthetic in their ads? I see this sort of thing in magazines like Dazed a lot, but I'm having a hard time finding a brand that consistently uses a film aesthetic in their fashion shoots

 The Ink Spot

GDSE's banter bin. Where we complain about clients, post cute ...
Jul 14, 2019 13:37
Hey @Vikas ! If you're looking for feedback there's a much bigger crowd here on weekdays round 11am - noon GMT. We also have a dedicated room for critiques in the Looking Glass if you'd like to post your work there. I'd be happy to make some suggestions though there are others here with much more experience!

Ah sorry, I thought you mentioned UK as well
Jul 12, 2019 06:34
@WELZ Hopefully it'll stay pleasant for you. The UK has much the same weather as here, maybe warmer around London and the south east
Jul 11, 2019 16:27
@WELZ good to hear. hopefully it won't rain while you're there. So far today we've had cloudy overcast skies, wind, heavy showers, and now it's dry with scorching sun and clear skies

There are a few design festivals now and then. Sadly I missed the last one. There is a designer meetup but somehow I suspect it's more of a bar meetup thing!
Jul 11, 2019 15:06
@Emilie haha I'm not totally against the cuddling thing but yeah, I imagine it would attract some weirdos too
Jul 11, 2019 14:27
Hey @WELZ hope you're enjoying your trip
Jul 11, 2019 14:00
whatever about cuddling friends, cuddling strangers at a venue seems a bit sultry, whatever they say xD
Jul 11, 2019 13:56
it's very strange!
Jul 11, 2019 13:54
A non-sexual touch workshop...cuddle party
Jul 11, 2019 13:54
what's the world coming to..had a look there for local designer meetups and came across this: meetup.com/…
Jul 11, 2019 13:53
hey @PieBie :)
Jul 11, 2019 13:35
getting back into design after a long break is proving difficult...I don't have a circle of designer friends where I live now so I feel a bit out of touch creatively speaking
Jul 11, 2019 13:34
couldn't have put it better myself
Jul 11, 2019 12:55
how's your Thursday going, @Vincent?
Jul 11, 2019 12:40
hello room
Jul 10, 2019 04:04
'night @Emilie !
Jul 10, 2019 03:48
@Emilie Much the same here. Just a few house flies in the summer and moths!
Jul 10, 2019 03:36
Haha giant moths! My partner would pack and fly home
Jul 10, 2019 03:30
I worry that my squemishness would get the better of me in places like that - even Australia terrifies me with all those snakes and creatures...horseman spiders
Jul 10, 2019 03:28
oh no! sounds like my idea of hell
Jul 10, 2019 03:26
Jul 10, 2019 03:26
Look a bit like ancient Irish forts
Jul 10, 2019 03:24
Jul 10, 2019 03:24
Haha yeah used to greenery though not quite like that.
Jul 10, 2019 03:23
Was just looking at some photos there - it looks amazing. Are those huts still in use or from a bygone era?
Jul 10, 2019 03:14
It looks beautiful from what I've seen online. I haven't been to that part of the world, though I guess it isn't far from Australia (relatively speaking). I have family there so who knows - I may stop over along the way
Jul 10, 2019 03:09
@Emilie That must have been worth it though. How was it?
Jul 10, 2019 03:07
yeah private should be fine. My insomnia isn't improving any time soon. Drinking camomile tea like no tomorrow here.
Jul 10, 2019 03:05
haha I suppose not. Apparently the bride gave my work-partner the OK to use them but it still seems a bit humiliating to repost that stuff. The bride was my partner's friend
Jul 10, 2019 03:04
Couple holidays (particularly long distance) tend to be an acid-test for a relationship I think
Jul 10, 2019 03:03
no way!
Jul 10, 2019 03:02
It's terrible cus it was the first wedding I did and I dunno if I can really use that in my portfolio now
Jul 10, 2019 03:01
they separated 6 months later!
Jul 10, 2019 03:00
though I did photograph a groom during a wedding as he waited for his bride to walk up the aisle. He looked so miserable I had to use photoshop's face-liquify tool to make him seem somewhat content
Jul 10, 2019 03:00
I can't think of any photoshop fails right now...
Jul 10, 2019 02:59
haha that's even creepier. Deep-fake level of conspiracy!
Jul 10, 2019 02:58
you'll be found out soon enough, I'm sure :P
Jul 10, 2019 02:56
sounds like a nightmare. I can't help but wonder what the middle person did that was so bad to be transformed into a bunch of melons
Jul 10, 2019 02:54
oh dear :D
Jul 10, 2019 02:54
haha! omg what did you do? superimpose stock photo arms?
Jul 10, 2019 02:48
I've only used grep a handful of times - it frightens me but very useful lol

 The Looking Glass

A room to share your art and offer feedback. Everyone is welcome.
Jul 12, 2019 06:55
I'm thinking of posting a question how best to include expressive typography in printed media without distracting from the main content/conventional type. I love experimental type but I find it can be very distracting sometimes.
Jul 12, 2019 06:54
Working on a small booklet of my thesis proposal for my portfolio. I feel very rusty. Working in B&W for now
