@JourneymanGeek far as I can tell, SMART check categorizes the drive as Bad, backup and replace, meaning it's bricked...but , being it's a software issue, it may still be recoverable in the right hands
You should try BootIce: Restore USB Flash Disk Back to Full Capacity.

@CanadianLuke I have a licenced windows, but even that has licence recognition problems in upgrading. Say for example if I want to install Windows xp besides windows 7, it won't let me get past the license input screen
Tests either cannot read drive or report an error of some kind. that includes GSmart Control. Seagate's Disc Wizard tool doesn't detect at all. Far as I can tell, there is nothing more to do as this point than lay it to rest.
