There two things that I don't quite understand 1) You're saying that If a type was changed [..] - why would you change a type of a setting just like that? Does that mean a string can suddenly become an int etc? 2) How does the new solution helps you to mitigate this problem? It looks like there are still types everywhere so if they change, you're back to square one.
