Jul 19 10:32
time for a lunch nap here :D
Jul 19 10:32
good night Criggie o/
Jul 19 10:31
we moved to a new site last week and the bike parking got worse :( Now we have stupid double row racks which break your wheels :(
Jul 19 10:31
still worth it
Jul 19 10:29
@Criggie but with some insecure combination lock? o.O Why not a proper big U-Lock you just leave there?
Jul 19 09:29
thieves are going to take the colleagues time trial bike first anyway
Jul 19 09:29
do you not have a employees-only parking at work? I don’t even lock my 7k€ bike at work
Jul 14 10:07
just sand it down :D
Jul 14 07:00
maybe it needs a stronger spring precisely because it doesn’t have a clutch?
Jul 13 07:43
@Sam7919 you can pull upwards as hard as you want and they won’t unclip (unless you get the cleats designed to do so). They do tend to be a bit easier to twist and unclip, which can be a downside for rapid mounting/dismounting.
Jul 7 18:30
it’s so unfair that car owners don’t have to worry about theft even half as much
Jul 7 18:29
the most annoying thing is that you now have to decide on a new bike and have to dial in the seating position again
Jul 7 18:14
I always felt nervous leaving the 7k€ road bike locked with a 4mm 200g chain while going for groceries or in a cafè
Jul 7 18:06
which lock?
Jul 7 18:05
do we all have to be afraid?
Jul 7 18:05
how long were you gone? What kind of area?
Jul 7 18:04
oh no O•O
Jul 7 17:57
what happened?
Jul 7 07:11
but I think you can disable the reroute prompt
Jul 7 07:11
@Rеnаud and then it calculates some stupid route
Jul 7 06:59
@gschenk I assume that’s sarcasm? :D
Jul 5 18:40
you have the most expensive type of “bicycle” and balk at 750€ for a power meter? :p
Jul 5 13:09
@Willeke ~750€ for a pair
Jul 5 11:08
@Criggie 2°C and rain and darkness is the worst
Jul 5 11:08
@Criggie calibration? As long as the crankarm length is the same I don’t think you have to do any
Jul 5 08:02
there are now even good MTB pedal power meters
Jul 5 08:01
@Criggie you could get a pedal based power meter and just put it on whichever bike you are currently using
Jun 23 08:02
a company is a legal person :p
Jun 23 06:39
I guess you are getting old
Jun 20 13:16
I suggest not squirting a Bison
3
Jun 20 12:06
when it happens
Jun 20 12:06
I’ll let future Michael figure it out
Jun 17 10:22
maybe just the combination of all new drivetrain components, Silca Synergetic lube and little rain
Jun 17 10:21
I don’t know how
Jun 17 10:21
I now have 6Mm on a 12 speed Ultegra chain. It’s magic.
Jun 13 06:59
the permanent Criggie, in existence forever :)
Jun 10 19:20
here in Austria electric vehicles are allowed to have green letters which also reduces contrast :(
Jun 10 18:58
but I’m not sure there are any advantages over nice big letters with fonts optimized for readability
Jun 10 18:58
so I guess you could use a barcode with 35 bits
Jun 10 18:57
a QR code is complete overkill since it can store ~3kB of data but a license plate only needs <35 bits
Jun 10 13:51
@Criggie windstopper bibs with fluffy inside is the best
Jun 9 12:44
@Erlkoenig: Munich has the new biggest climbing gym in the world!
Jun 9 10:54
@Criggie units of time are fucked up but somehow the only unit the whole world agrees on :(
Jun 5 09:16
@gschenk I’d assume away from street lights they are much better than nothing
Jun 5 09:11
@Peachy what kind of lights?
Jun 2 20:09
Leather does make meat “production” more profitable even if it’s just a by product
Jun 2 20:08
@gschenk my specialized are fake leather and have lasted 15 years just fine
Jun 1 07:49
we don’t have electricity in the basement, so I have to use power banks for charging all the gadgets which sucks
Jun 1 06:49
I just have to remember to charge it from time to time. Just like the lights and bike computer.

Jun 17 18:34
I’d say it very much depends on the type of walking. A brisk walk on uneven ground with plenty of elevation change (and possibly a backpack and hiking poles) is an entirely different thing than strolling through the shopping mall.
