and tried using a torpedo level, but since the backyard is very slightly sloped, it ended up looking terrible when the posts were actually level

@SteveJackson thanks! We had one of those annoying half-circle windows above the regular window. It looks great on the outside of the house, but would wake us up on Saturdays with a sunbeam ray of death to the face
