@Mazura similar here. Even now, I have "6k" of meaningless rep. I'm not going to touch an answer with someone from 10k+ rep, out of fear of being shouted at.
It's almost as if the enthusiasm for SpaceX (which is 100% fair, I'm just as enthusiastic as anyone) gets in the way of people actually taking the time and care to answer such questions appropriately.
I could break it down line by line, but that'd be tiring. If you actually question each sentence in that answer it's not analytical at all. It's just personal opinion masquerading as authority.
@kimholder I don’t think it does. Just like when you used the term “humanity” which has the substring of “man” in it, I don’t think you meant to convey that it’s only the men of our species count either. :)
As an aside: I think those photos say a lot about just how advanced our cameras and lenses have become. What's the crow-flies distance between that photo and Atlas V there
If you feel strongly about it, feel free to revert my edit! I generally try to act on good faith, and you have more rep here than me so implicitly I trust your judgement more.
@geoffc Hi! Yeah, I'm not a fan of unneeded plugs where necessary personally; I wouldn't remove it generally if it was vital to understanding the answer, but that seemed tangential
Nah, weather doesn't get in the way. These things hover continuously at FL900. Well above most of the atmosphere. I'd also wager that drones will end up being more reliable due to quicker iterative design and the ability to get the vehicle back if necessary.
