I have to laugh at the one guy suggesting this question is going to stop others "trying to do the same thing".... yeah and it's going to encourage a much larger fraction to now think of it as an option that didn't exist before. Voted to close.

Business trip? Hotel room in an attic? What... ?

I got off in Frankfurt Hahn thinking it was in Frankfurt at midnight and nearly missed the last bus to Frankfurt (because of atrocious signing and details), then finding out Frankfurt is a pretty scary place the morning after I had wandered trying to find my hotel for a few hours after midnight.. Fun... Frankfurt is a strange city indeed.

@JoeStrazzere No idea what you're trying to insinuate that they thought. They're not going to magically find more employers looking to employ them because a non-minority friend of theirs...

Nov 8, 2018 16:01
@Kami and OP is smart enough to realise that him helping out several of his friends with their job seeking efforts is not a plan to get himself a job...
Nov 8, 2018 16:01
OP could be a developer with a job and experience to give. Why are you classifying him as "a white holy idol". I would hate to live in whatever world you guys are living in where I can't attend an event with my friends and help them out because "I am a certain race".

@Cypher Sorry buddy, but you are wrong. This advice is just the truth. If you don't want to follow it then you're allowed to, but don't get upset when someone jumps above you in half your time.
Oct 5, 2018 00:53
@Steve It's okay. There are a lot of dinosaurs who seem to think that worth is measured in age rather than how much money you're making the company or how well you do your work.
Oct 4, 2018 15:21
Yes. People with low IQs aren't going to be accepted into an astronaut trial, so there aren't many entering.
Oct 4, 2018 15:21
I'm not trying to argue with you.
Oct 4, 2018 15:21
Yes. And your reason for why it matters to you is your own responsibility as I've already covered that archaic one.
Oct 4, 2018 15:21
@Dukeling How would you know I'm wrong and how would others know I'm wrong? They don't. There's a reason the answers here are written by humans.
Oct 4, 2018 15:21
@Kilisi Weird to start saying things that attempt to falsify what I said with "because I said so", then not understand why that's wrong... I guess he dodged a bullet with you then.
Oct 4, 2018 15:21
Nope. Because you're not going to be a jump up, you'd be a jump down. I covered that case already.
Oct 4, 2018 15:21
I don't mind if people disagree. Won't make me wrong.

Stress isn't always generated by overworking or poor working conditions. You can stress yourself out because you "don't know what to do". This is normal stress for a new professional. I get stress at work not because it's hard work, but because I spend a lot of time learning something that seems simple after I learn it.

@LightnessRacesinOrbit what? The tap water in the UK is fit to drink. Not sure why you're trying to fight against this very fact.

Jan 25, 2018 00:22
I would hate to be sexually harassed in an environment where there are several reports of sexual harassment for mediocre things such as this.
Jan 25, 2018 00:22
@JorgePerez It's not sexual harassment. There's a scary amount of people on the internet that think any form of visual bullying is considered sexual harassment (and only when it happens to women). It's really scary.
Jan 25, 2018 00:21
@Jorg

Jan 8, 2018 11:10
No citation required. It's a common fact, you can look it up if you want.
Jan 7, 2018 23:21
@RoryAlsop Incorrect. I am right. No law in the world says looking at another person is sexual harassment.
Jan 6, 2018 00:56
@Joe You are utterly and truthfully wrong. "Scanning" or whatever you think he is doing isn't sexual harassment, sexual harassment is sexual harassment. Stop making it look like some joke by assigning it to such trivial meaning.
Jan 6, 2018 00:55
@coinbird Nothing this man did to OP is sexual harassment.

Password managers don't stop your passwords being leaked, they just minimize the fallout. Having strong passwords is no different.
Nov 20, 2017 20:29
I don't understand why people swear by password managers as being "so secure". It's the opposite of secure. You lose all control over your passwords. @Tim: That's not a password manager then.

How does someone never pay tax, hold a job and keep it for 14 years!?

@NateEldredge A significant number of hostels don't allow (and severely restrict) sleeping bags. That's like saying a significant amount of people don't need toilet paper because they're males, so let's put a price on it. I didn't book a plane ticket because I wanted to get fed. I did however book a bed because I wanted to sleep. p.s it's not a lower price, it's a higher price. If you take something away and start charging for it's use, the original price won't (and in this case didn't) go down.
Sep 6, 2015 00:08
You guys seem to have the wrong idea, not sure where you got it from. Feel free to vote to close, this is a valid question and no where near a rant. @NateEldredge Your analogies are not similar to this question. Those are 'extras'. If you can sleep your entire life without bedding I salute you... Until then, you're the one complaining here, not I. a la carte would be them offering breakfast for a price, or [extra] towels. Pretty off the beat there. Joe, would be hard to edit out a rant that is not there? :/
Sep 6, 2015 00:08
I have only heard from people who go to hostels that there is a good chance to pay for bedding. I have booked several hostels for my 6 week trip and just wondering how much $$$ I will be wasting on rented bedding. You've given me hope though.

Aug 20, 2015 12:28
That has no relevance then. All companies are different. It's not an assumption, it's an example. In this case, one company has all males and one company has half males, half females. Why would it not?
Aug 20, 2015 12:28
So do companies that work on Software rather than Beauty products. What is your point?
Aug 20, 2015 12:28
@StevenWood Then the issue lies in the company, not in the fact that you're Pakistani. They would do that if you were the only smart person in a company of idiots also. That's pretty much how life works.
Aug 20, 2015 12:28
What the heck is a monoculture? If you're implying that a company of males is any different to a company of half males and half females, then you clearly have your priorities reversed.
Aug 20, 2015 12:28
What are you talking about? Lots of people love being the only one. I personally love being the only Australian in my group of 30 internationals.
