+1, to me your answer explains the "why" in the question much better than others. Java and Python can be either very verbose or very terse, especially with an IDE and the new Java 8 features ; the Java culture just usually optimizes near the end of the development/maintenance cycle, while Python developers usually seem do the opposite.
